This was definitely not my mom's attitude; she was terrified of dying. I wonder what goes on behind the door when no one is looking. She's still going to have to go through all the stages one faces when dying, but without the right help. How generous of you to reach out to her.

36WITNESSES REACTION TO FACING DEATH......
by Mary ini went to see someone in my old hall last night, who's recently been diagnosed with cancer.
she's only in her late 40s, healthy, so this was a shock when i found out about it the other night.
apparently it's gone in to her liver and her doctor has not given her any hope of surviving it, although they're going for a second opinion, as the doctors in our area are notoriously incompetent.. even though i stopped going to the meeting 2 years ago, i thought going to see her was the human thing to do, since she studied with me when i was 15 years old and i thought it would maybe be comforting for her to talk to someone else who had had cancer.

Were you ever "all in"?
by nonamegiven infor those of us here who are xjw's for varying degrees (df's, ds'd or just faded away {the greatest feat of all}) looking back to your years as an active jw, were you ever 100% mentally?
i thought i was but looking back when i was a ms and being groomed for elder i was very zealous but still didn't like field service but loved helping out.
now i look back i see i was just looking for acceptance from other, not serving god.. i would elaborate but i plan on posting "my story" soon.. how about you?.

Mom Died -- and I found out from an old friend!
by BrendaCloutier inok, i'm writing this thru tears as i just found out in the last 5 minutes.
my dad died in august, and they had been together just 1 or 2 weeks over 70 years married!
i didn't expect her to last without him, and visa versa.. i just tried to call my sister, and no answer there.

Brenda, I am sorry for the loss of your mother and the pain it brings. You are dealing with the additional pain of being so hatefully treated by your family. Please find comfort in your close friendships and let your true friends take care of you.

DarleneHopefully your sister will have to come to terms with her hate-filled cruelty. These words are nearly what my sister said to me. My mom died this summer. I got a call from my sister because somehow the funeral home knew there was a third sibling and would not cremate her body without my signature. This is what their so-called "god's organization" produces. "By their fruitage you will know them." I am thankful for you that your out. Please take solace in the love from members of this board.

like i said earlier my parents got divorced and then remarried.
my dad goes to the meetings sometimes when he is not out gambling or making someone miserable with his hateful demeanor.

It sounds like you're in fear because of the wts's teachings. They do not have the truth. You and your children are not be doomed because you do not follow what they/your mom say. Do some investigating, read this site. You can be free of the fear they impose.
