USA is the only western democracy which has relativelly good demographics. Russian, European, and Japanese is againg and dying off rapidly. China is not far behidn iwth the one child policy. It will eventually slow the economic growth as the population will mirror Japan in next 40 years.

fulltimestudent. what you descibe can be summarized as illusion of freedom. Additionally, majority of citizens in democracies absolutelly do not care about politics and especially the middle class which is passive and resigned. In 1960's there the same mass protests everywhere without making a dent into political structure of these countreis and in the 1970's these protestes were forgottoen. In 2010-13 there were huge protests everywhere in EU with millions of people in the streets from Madrid, to Athens, Prague, Riga, Ljubjana to Budapest, and nothing happend in the long run.

Chinese economy is really unknown and upredictable as there is a lot of internal, hidden problems. It is mixed of capitalism and communism where the debt level is hard to estimate, and much of the money is waisted on programs that do have not value for the economy. China due its size have a significant potential but it will not be able to postpone economic problem indefinitely. In 1980's I heard how Japan will rule the world, today it is said about China. USA debt is a major burden on American economy, but Japans and British debts are the biggest problems for industrial world.

Rattigan.. He did not. To Jews, Jesus was another failed prophet, one many that claimed to be messiah. However, only Jesus became world mainstream religion that has nothing to do with original Jewish idea of Messiah as king, priest, and prophet. Jesus have not returned. He is dead and he is not coming, at least based on the Jewish faith.

Centerpiece of Jewish faith is direct service to G-d as a way to restore humanity in the eyes of the Creator, not in a belief that some dude like Jesus had done that. Chris Tann, I am not Jew, but I married to one. I studied with rabbi and got a differnet perspective on OT and aspects of Jewish faith that is very different from Christianity and certainly from JW. Jews do not deny existence of Jesus as a historical figure, but they do not see him as a Messiah. Additionally considering that Jesus failed to return despite making claims to his followers only ensures me that he was a false prophet.

Chris Tann, any Jew professing a faith in Judaism could not reconcile Jesus with Messiah. This is mutually exclusive. If any person of Jewish faith decided to accept Christianity, he or she cannot claim to be in both faiths. Judaism and Christianity have different theology and beliefs that cannot be combined. Additionally you are trapped within Catholic foundation of Christianity that implemented concept of Original sin, which is foreigner in Judaism and this idea is channeled to various Protestant denominations in Northern America. If there is no original sin, there is no redeemer Jesus to pay your sins away. The centerpieces of Jewish faith is a direct relationship to G-d, not to dead guy to whom Paul assigned a divine attributes.

In the Jewish covenant, Israel is the body created and called by G-d as his tool of redemption to bring a divine reign of fruitation. This is opposite to what Christianity teaches where Jesus filled the role. Jesus did not fullfill messianic expectation of the Jewish nation. He was not king, nor gathered Jews from exile, renewed temple, nor was annointed by prophet. To them he was not priest, king, or prophet. Nothing in Christianity can change that. Redemption in Judaism is centered in love of G-d in soul, mind, and heart; where upholding divine Commandment heals the breech that seperate mankind with from Him. Jews do not seek out to reparing world, but restoring the world through the service to G-d.

michelle, there is also no credibility in NT. Christianity and Judaism does not believe in the same G-d. This is only your illusion as well as many of the Protestant movements around the world. Because Christianity uses texts that were written for Jewish faith, it still does not make Christianity a continuation of Judaism or gave them a divine gift of interpretation of the OT. Christianity corrupted the meaning of it and I am sure the rabbis and Jewsto whom OT is also part of their national and cultural identity for 2500 years understand much better than Protestant Bible preacher.

Apognophos, Jews do not need Christians to pray for them. They do just fine without Christians and unlike them, they do not go around to proselyte others about their faith. Jews do not share Christian beliefs, nor accept dead Jewish guy as their Messiah.

Chris Tann, you mistake by redeeming sin by one individual on behalf other does not make any sense in Judaism because everyone is responsible for his own sin. Christian thinking where Adamic sin was washed away by Jesus never made any sense even to me when I was in JW cult. Adamic sin is invention of Christianity and was accepted in the 4th century by St. Augustine as mainstream theology.

myelanie, evangelical support for Jews/Israel is not guided for whatsoever interest in well being of the Judaism, but it is a way to justify their religious extremism. Evangelicism hopes that gathering all Jews in one statehood would prove the End is imminient and Jesus will appear at the end of the times. Jews do not care about Jesus, nor about Evangelical religion. Stalin used to support Israel in 1948 and Czechoslovakian communist government was detrimental for aiding Israel in that time. Their reasoning was not guided by love to Jews, but creating another communist paradise in the world. Evangelical preachers and other extremists are guided by similar motion to prove their ideology. Jesus did not die for anyone sins in the sense of Judaism, as there is no redemption of one person on the other. Besides, majority of Jews lived outside Judea at the time of Jesus's death and have no whatsoever knowledge on his existence. Jews had many people who claimed to be Messiah, but only one made it into world's mainstream religion.

No miraclous events happened in 70AD. Judea was an integral part of Roman empire and was as rebellious province punished the same way at the same time sas happened in Britain under Boedica, Illyria, or Batavia. Which G-d these provinces pissed off? Judaism does not teach salvation though someone else, there is no redemption for sin by someone else sacrifices. This does not make whatsoever any sense. Everyone is responsible for his or her own sin, nothing more or less. There is no redeemer, nor bridge [Jesus] over bottomless gap of sin between you and G-d. Redemtion and Jesus death is invalid in the eye of Judaism. Judaism does not teach original sin, adamic sin, or defect that is transmitted from generation to generation as a sin. Life is created perfect and sinless. Sin happens by people's innability to uphold Torah. Hebrews 9:18-23 and everything what is written in NT has no whatsoever any meaning to Jews. It is not part of theri sacred books; therefore, invalid and worthless. There is no need for mediator between you and G-d. OT does not deal with such nonsense. Besides Paul violated in this topic Deut 5:29.
