Being bothered about what they say about ex-members does not bother me in the least. They lie to people all the time, why wouldn't they lie about this? I did absolutley nothing wrong. I just left.

Nah, we went to 1/2 the morning session of the District Convention. Then we went to IKEA, then we went to dinner. Didn't go back to the D.C. the next day.
That's about what happened to me, too. It was a DC, I was sick and tired of it, left at lunch and never went back to one ever. I didn;t feel the least bit guilty either.

I'm grateful for the fact that my mom and brother, sister-in-law and cousin that live in N.Y. are not Witnesses and they have always loved me no matter what and I didn't really appreciate it until I left the organization. I came to see how conditional the so-called love of those in the organization is - once I stopped going to the hall, those that I thought of as true friends and family acted as if I never existed, and I didn't even do anything wrong to deserve being treated that way. I just stopped going to the Hall and there's a stigma attached to that. You're considered "bad association" when you don't go on a regular basis. I guess putting a label on someone serves to justify not having to care for them anymore.

saw a great little piece on headline news or cnn the other night, they showed a memorial celebration of the 90th year of world war one.
now think about this, how many veterans do you think attended from world war one ???????.
the one veteran who layed down a wreath, was 108, and he talked a little, the best he could, and thanking his fellow war heroes.. this piece really hit home with me, because, didn't the watchtower once say, the generation of 1914 will not pass away, remember the early teaching, "they would have to be able to understand the things going on", "first started with 15 years olds, then ten year old, then can't be babies born, then can be babies born.
That was one of the bloodiest and most useless wars in history. Nobody should have fought in that war. I don't mean disrespect.
I think that you do. It's extremely disrespectful to tell someone who put they're lives on the line, be it for good or not, that they're war was nonsense.
In other words, who gives a crap. Don't start pissing off war vets. They're old, and they deserve respect.
