but I still left feeling a bit "empty" due to running into two men who showed no hesitancy in condeming the Bible and those who feel that it's inspired. Once they found out how I felt about it they toned down their criticism, but they seemed to treat me as a child who still has a lot to learn. Mind you, not everybody who was there were of that mindset, but I stopped going since I didn't want to run into those two again.
Herk - I don't blame you! That sounds contradictory to what their literature says they're all about....that they accept all spiritual views...we even sang a song today about how your spirituality is yours personally. Sorry to hear you had a negative experience.
There is a break-away group that advocates the Bible. Their website is at http://www.biblicalunitarian.com/html/. I've been in touch with them and feel they offer much more of what I was looking for.
