we were friends for 10 years and through that 10 years he would bounce back and forth between wanting to be ultra religious and being worldly.

It's amazing that they would DARE disfellowship someone because they were raped. It would be like disfellowshipping someone because they were robbed at gunpoint. If you hand over your money without a fight then you concented to their plan and you would be financing their life of crime. If you didn't hand over your money then you would be too aggressive and not humble and Christ like.

I was talking to my fiance about the speculated pronounciation of YHWH and how they came up with Jehovah. I said that for all anyone knows it could be pronounced YahooWoohoo. But why is everyone in the WTS so concerned over its pronounciation and using it to name their own religion? God has many names and his true name is only known to him. Here's some of God's other names:

El Shaddai

I am who I am
I Am
Jesus
Christ
Father

The list goes on! Why focus on only one of those names and act like 1) It's pronounced correctly 2) It's spelled correctly and 3) It's God's true name? They say it's to worship him in truth and it's more personable to worship him by his name. But that's not even REALLY his name!

God has many names and his true one is hidden and secret so we would not be able to worship him by name and have it mean anything at all! The Witnesses say that Satan's true name is unknown and how everyone that claims to be a Satan Worshipper is worshipping someone they don't know because his true name is hidden. They are worshipping in ignorance. Using this same logic are the Witnesses not worshipping in ignorance since the true name of God is hidden?

which they later changed to 1974 / 75. .

Anybody See The January 22, 2004 Awake?

today, when i came home from the hospital, i saw the back of the 2004 awake and something struck my fancy.

it appears that it has pictures of the holy name in hebrew engraved in pyramids.

i opened up the magazine and it was filled with even more of those pictures, and a picture of a weird looking face on page 11.

Pyramids? Since I don't subscribe to these crappy magazines I haven't seen it. Are these the pyramids of Egypt? Are these the very same pyramids that they said in 1928 that they were built by people not favored by God and therefore in league with Satan and in whom belief was incorrect? Are they changing their minds about this yet again?

It's my business to post.

It's not a waste of your time if you don't waste your time with it.

And if I don't like your drama I should'nt read it? What a concept? Well, if you have a grasp on this concept then why are you reading MY drama if you don't like drama? Since you see this as drama and you have "better things to do" then why are you not doing these better things instead of "wasting your time" with my drama? What a concept indeed.

As far as the last question, yeah, he wanted to try to have phone sex with her and send her naked videos of himself. My point about all of this is that this is someone that claims to be a good JW. Isn't that what we all do here? Post PERSONAL STORIES of the JW's hypocrisy? Post horrible stories about what one JW did to us that opened our eyes to the way they are? If this is airing personal business and if this is drama then I guess this whole board is a soap opera and maybe you all shouldn't waste your time here. This board has been established for this very purpose: TO AIR OUR PERSONAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS RELIGION AND ITS PEOPLE.

let's see if i can explain this a little better.

i actually went to meeting two weeks ago (husband is an inactive dub, and we went to oblige his family while we were home visiting on a school break) -- the brother giving the talk is brand new to the area.

he is from tennesse, although i'm not sure where.

Oh, by the way, I am living in TN now although I am originally from MA. I went to the Shelburne Falls congregation there. Then I moved to SC and signed up with the hall there. Then I just up and left. No hall here in TN has any of my records so nobody here can say or do anything.
