I think that only the oldest of them actually believes it. However, most of these men are the equivalent of corporate executives who will say and do whatever is necessary to effectuate a growth of their corporation. Sadly, however, I do believe that many average Witnesses are convinced that the end is coming any day now. There is a sucker born every minute!

Sunday notes at the District Convention: Avoid an independent spirit!

i wandered outside the convention around mid-afternoon, returning for the concluding song, so i didn't get to hear "summary of the botchtower" nor the final talk (which gets all the seals clapping).. .
know that the kingdom of god is near .

Even if they can't leave because of family ties, such as myself, they are unproductive and unfruitful because of what they know. They don't contribute towards the World Wide Work, they make up their hours and they don't study for meetings.
You should see my Field Service Report since I was awakened as to the fraud that this organization is. I have never been so spiritual. Many hours, many bible studies, return calls...... the works! And all this is done with a stroke of the mighty pen!
Before I was generous with my money and would often contribute when I could not afford to. Now, I would not contribute a penny if I found it on the ground.
The above comment describes me to a tee!
I also increased my magazine order and get a pile of literature every month that I do not pay for. Surprisingly, I don't even feel guilty about it.

Are All Governing Body Members Created Equal?

some of these men have been waiting for decades for paradise and refuse to give up on the idea that it will someday come.. on the other hand.
i believe that others on the governing body are actually evil.

I do not believe they are.
I think that some of the Governing Body members are sincere, God fearing men, who really believe the crap that they are dishing out to their members. Some of these men have been waiting for decades for Paradise and refuse to give up on the idea that it will someday come.
On the other hand. I believe that others on the Governing Body are actually evil. They are slick purveyors of their own agendas, drunk with the power that their money brings them. They have little or no regard for the rank and file members and see them as inferior, weak and able to be manipulated.
The term "the brothers" is tossed about when referring to their members and they are thought of as all one group, with one mind, goose stepping to their will. It is a source of amusement to some of them.
The rank and file are the puppets and they as the marionettes are supplied with a constant source of entertainment.
They know that they can do or say practically anything and it will be accepted by their puppets.
Sometimes at the end of a meetings it is announced "the Governing Body" loves you. How many of you have heard this announced at the Kingdom Hall.
It is a ploy to keep you in line by reaching your heart with words of love.

I believe that keeping the "dubbie slaves" busy in field service and going to be meetings gives credence to their claim of being a religion.
A religion allows them to carry on their work tax free.
Publishers are in a sense "pimping" for the Watchtower. They stand on street corners hawking their wares of publications and the Watchtower gets all the monetary benefit from their effort by way of contributions.

The Watchtower organization is an extremely wealthy organization.
Because of this it has garnered respect from other corporations and organizations around the world. it is courted by banks, both here and internationally, as well as other secular and religious entities to join them in some way or another. If you have as much money as the Watchtower in the banks of the world, you are invited to be on their Boards, when you are on their Boards you are invited to their parties, to join their crusades.
This organization does not exist in a vacuum and has far reaching tenacles.
We will probably never know the real extent of their involvement with other governments and religions.

it is called a people for his name and it was written by a jehovah's witness named timothy white.
i love this book and it helps one to see the origins of many things taught by the witnessing such as disfellowshipping and the blood doctrine.

I recently discovered a great book which I would like to recommend. It is called A PEOPLE FOR HIS NAME and it was written by a Jehovah's Witness named Timothy White. I love this book and it helps one to see the origins of many things taught by the witnessing such as disfellowshipping and the blood doctrine.
This book was published in 1967 and it is interesting that back then White notes:
Finanlly, a prophesy by one of Jehovah's Witnesses that has come true!
One thing is certain:
The Witnesses have shown no disposition to stop “advancing in the light” as they call all changes. And if the King of the North has changed from Napoleon to Hitler to the Communists, we might well expect it to change to someone else when the Cornmunists are no longer a threat. Whatever may be taught in the future, we may be sure the Witnesses will dutifully accept it without a blush or a blink, and continue preaching the nearness of the end.
