My guess is that when he tries to register the username hellpuppy looks like someone who would stir up trouble... which couldn't be further from the truth. ;)
But he's been muzzled because I prefer not to have people post under my name. If he gets himself an approved account of his own he is quite welcome to join in the discussion. ;)

How would YOU explain a Jehovah's Witness FEAR of Disfellowshipping to a reporter ?
by Balaamsass intoday i got contacted by a reporter.
he was incredulous that a parent would contact elders and not report a child rape to the police immediately.
i tried to put on my jw hat and explain the jw mindset to him..but it was like explaining color to a blind man.

From a post I made in 2003 in answer to a similar, though not exactly the same, question:
Do you remember when you were a kid and you were terrified of monsters in the dark? You know, the age when you were old enough to know better... but they still terrified you? And you would lay in bed afraid that they might be coming for you, afraid of what they would do to you. That's what the fear is like, the fear that God will kill you for not following the rules. You can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it makes no sense and still it terrifies you. The only difference is my dad told me that my demons were real, he didn't check under the bed and make them go away.

What would be the standing of a born-in who were always there (field work and all) but never baptized?
by dgp inthis may be an elementary question but i was never a jw.. i wonder if such a person can actually exist.. i assume a born-in knows basically all about jehovah's-witnesses by the time he is, say, 16. if he were to postpone baptism, this person would not be in the same situation as a worldly who doesn't know an iota of anything, but would not be a brother, either.
what would be his real standing?.

Yes, I wasn't allowed to be in my sister's wedding, either. It was very hurtful and I am so sorry you are feeling that pain, earthfire.

So when I was forced to do field service as a child I became an unbaptised publisher and I was considered approved association for other jw youth. When I stopped doing field service and it became apparent that I was not working towards baptism I was no longer approved association for the other jw youth so parents wouldn't let their kids even associate with me after meetings. Of course this wasn't announced from the platform, that I am aware of, it was spread more word of mouth... but then I was intentionally sleeping throgh a lot of meetings at that point so perhaps I just missed it. ;)

I have a hypothetical question...
by Greybeard inimagine a creator who created billions of earth like planets in a huge experiment lasting billions of years.
what form of goverment would win in the long run?
would good or evil prevail in the end?
