Yes, EQ was (is) an on-line RPG and yes... that's where I met my husband, lol He was a half-elf Bard leading my group across a difficult zone and he got us lost (he swears to this day he wasn't really lost.. Men!!) and I argued with him about which way to go and he got mad and logged out and left us there.. doesn't sound like the beginning of a beautiful relationship?? I asked his friend, who had gotten him involved in the first place, what his problem was. he explained it to me (hubby is disabled and in a lot of pain.. tends to make him crabby at times) and the next time he was on we talked for hours.. and thats how it all started I won't get into how I met his friend to begin with.. lets just say I was a tree in front of a town and he got me drunk...
We still enjoy playing games together, which is why we tend toward the on-line games which are, obviously, designed for people to play together.. ironicly we are fairly anti-social and very rarely play with other people in-game. Hubby plays another game called Eve, which I haven't gotten into at all.. in that game he is head of a huge corp (that games version of guilds) and is taking over the universe
About Neverwinter... Hubby is a D&D player since he was a kid, DM'd for awhile, still loves the old rule set.. has some problems with the more recent stuff.. I don't really know much about it so I won't get into it I do know he says the most recent Neverwinter is the best D&D computer game so far (he picked it up about 2 weeks ago) and that the character customization is unparalleled in D&D computer games.
Edited to add: Ok, hubby has corrected me.. Baldurs Gate was the best D&D computer game..

I asked hubby how he would compair Wow to Elder Scrolls and he says... Wow has less character control, class based instead of skill based, quests are less story driven.. basically more level grind.. more MMO than RPG and you have to put up with a lot of idiots.. he also says that Elder Scrolls is probably the best series of RPG's out there.. followed by Neverwinter nights.
And he is THE expert

I actually probably wouldn't recommend WoW. At least not the on-line version. (I haven't tried the non-on-line Warcraft) It's ok game wise, but it's so full of kids acting like idiots it drives me nuts. (one more naked gnome dancing in the middle of the auction house and I'll scream!) I tend to play it more in the middle of the night As far as On-line RPG's go I like guild wars better because every time you leave "town" you have to world to your self.. or at least to your group. . My husband and I play together which makes it more fun anyway. (we met in EQ, lol) Although..It seems to be more story line based that WoW.. which I'm not sure I like as well. He just got me into City of Hero's.. I normally prefer fantasy genre games but this superhero stuff is actually a lot of fun.
Not much help, am I

well since maybe you are no longer a jw any more..............you have that option!.
good idea?.
giving your sons or daughters to the "gods of war" .
Thank you Outlaw, that was the point I've been trying to make.. it's been circled around, but not really addressed. Everyone seems to think that you have to "go to war" Sometimes war comes to you.
Misty
i've read so many posts from the men on this forum.
how many of you are are willing to defy the society, and defend your wives, sister, and/or daughters in the face of this religion?.
just a question not a threat.. r. .
Bigmouth... I know that I usually don't want to be "interfered with" unless I ask for it.. but it is nice to know help is available. Let a woman know you are there if she needs you, and if you see a situation that you are not absolutly sure about.. ask! My brother and Father both volunteered to take my Ex "for a walk in the woods" and, while I turned them down, it was very nice to know they were there to back me up no matter what.
My husband (not my ex, the current one) would support me no matter what.. even when I'm wrong and making a fool of myself he will back me all the way.. in public, he might let me know later what he really thought I told a guy off in a bar once, for no other reason than he was loud and such a pig I couldn't stand it.. he hadn't said a word to me, but on our way out I stopped and told him he was a blowhard who could go to hell.. my husband (his nickname is Ogre for a good reason) stood menacingly behind me during my tirade and we all walked out with out any violence.. he told me later he was proud of me for speaking my mind but glad he didn't have to "step in" My MIL was with us and she got a huge kick out of the whole thing and was greatly impressed with me.
I love that I have some male backing for when I can't keep my mouth shut.

LOL, I've never seen myself as so important that a million people would try to kill me.. or my family, for that matter. When you are talking about self-defense don't you think numbers like that are a little overboard?

"i told the elders that my uncle was doing this to me and they handled it in the way that conformed to our beliefs," ward said.
"my uncle was an elder in the jehovah witnesses.
they said i needed another witness to believe my story.
Hector Rivera, a former elder in the Prattville congregation who was at the informal inquiry 30 years ago
Hector Rivera's daughter, came forward with similar allegations against Colon
This Elder is facing some consiquences.. his own daughter was abused.. by a man he helped protect with the "two witness" rule.
So very sad.

I agree.. get a mouse that you like.. they aren't usually very expensive.
I've got Oblivion on my PC, but I haven't started it yet, been too busy with City of Hero's, Guild Wars, and WoW

the object of the game is to shoot down as best you can a positive (no negatives allowed) assertion that has been made by one of your opponents.. you must do it in two sentences only.
you cannot do it with a mere contrary assertion.
you have to give a reference to back your argument up.. eloquence, pithy clarity, pointed relevence all count for much.. here is the format:.
UhOh! I don't read romance novels (yuck!) but I do have 2 cats AND a dog!! Somebody have me commited! (hubby might object..who would cook for him?)
Sorry, I have no assertions to make! (not today, anyway)
