i was watching a message in the official web site of the wt, and it's something like a video for television about a little boy who could not sleep because he was afraid.
he was painting two buildings and an aeroplane destroying them, i think like the september 11, 2001. the question is how many childrens can't sleep right now thinking on armaggedon as the ww (watchtower's witnesses) teach.

When we go to the preaching work we talk to the people about the wonderful paradise that God will bring soon, but when people accept to study the Bible with us we show them the final of this system of things as a terrific day, where the people not WW will die and the birds will come to eat their flesh. When the person "understand" that, is in our hands. Is that the beggining of a beautiful life?..... Will the family ot that person be more happy? i think not really.

well me and a couple of co-workers took the afternoon off and we went and saw the day after tomorrow.
i was greatly disappointed i must say.
if you don't want to know too much about the story, don't read any further.
What a bad!!! I was waiting for the moment to see that film, but one workmate went to see it and he said me "it's awful". The story is bad and poor, but the special effects are good.
Well, I'll wait for Armagedon better, maybe it'll be more exciting moment (ja, ja, ja....)

hi dear friends.. as maybe you know, i'm an elder at one of the congregations in santiago of chile, and all the body of elders received a letter from the branch office saying that if the congregation has some money in a current account or so they would send it to the branch.
in june 2003, a letter about the contributions (donations) said that the money coming from all the congregations every month were so little (few), and they were worried about what are the publishers doing with their money.
this means that the chilean branch of the wt has some economical problems.

when i was a teen i started to go to the kh, and one of the things that made me feel bad was to see how the publishers were teached at the service meeting how they must ask for money to the people on the "field" service.
maybe you remember there was a "price list" for the literature, and all the publishers had a goal to get each month, i mean, the special pioners must "place" for example xx books and xx magazines, regular pioners x books and xx magazines.... etc.. of course i asked the jw who was going to my house for bible studies about this, and i remember he told me it wasn't a "commercial" work.
i believed him, and a little time after i was selling books and magazines to the people.. now, we don't ask a contribution directly to the people, but the wt is always looking for money from the publishers, and here in chile there is a letter that the organization sent to all the elders asking why the congregations are sending too little money to the branch office.

They compare the money they received before when there was that "price list" and now. Of course the donations are so less than before.
What do you think?

okay, i don't know about the rest of you, but when i read any wt publications (even on here), i fall into a state where i'm reading, but not paying attention to what i'm reading.
i used to do it during watchtower studies, and when i was studying, i fought to pay attention to the material being discussed.
it just seems automatic, that i completely shut my mind off when reading wt publications.. what about you?
Hmmmm..... it's the same with me. I mean, when I understood what the WT is and I could prove that the organization is only an economic enterprise, my mind get closed to all the information coming from the WT. I read the publications but at the same time I'm trying to find some false ideas, the interest of the GB in money, etc. I can't believe now all the words of the "slave".

did our letter-writing campaign work?
http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/watchtower.pdf.
here are some lovely instructions drafted by syn, and hosted by valis, on how to navigate to the site yourself.. http://www.sassquatch.com/syn/un_ngo_letter/.
From Chile I have to say you Thank you for the information. I've seen at UN web site that letter. Now, I can show to some brothers this informations saying it's taken from an official web site. It's incredible what's happening, and it would be great to see the WT answer to all of this.

Here in Chile we have a brother who is bethelist, and some years ago, he was visiting an old sister. She was very ill, and all the family (non JW) knew she would die soon. The brother was asking her for the testament (last will) and trying to get her house as a gift for the chilean branch. Her family noted she was being pressed to sign a paper and, in that moment they take the brother away from the home, and of course, they quick his ass.
We were thinking that those homes for old brothers and sisters are only an "arrangement" for getting their possesions. What do you think?

dear friends.
do you know why the "reasoning" book was reprinted in 1989 after 4 years of published?
because there were some problems with the editor of a greek-english lexicon, by liddell & scott.
Dear friends
Do you know why the "Reasoning" book was reprinted in 1989 after 4 years of published? Because there were some problems with the editor of A Greek-English Lexicon, by Liddell & Scott. I was reading some letter between the WT and that editor.
When you read about the cross (in the reasoning 1985), and the WT quotes Liddell and Scott, the WT gives the impression that they have the same idea about the cross than the WT, so the editor of that publication had to write to the society explaining they have to change that.
Well I don't know if you understand me, but I'll try to be clearer next time.
