by johnathanseagull in.
do you remember the "marked ones" within your cong, i remember a couple who you could see were trying there damm bloody hardest to be accepted within the congregation, always sat at the back never "invited into the fold" fully and there was always the "hmmmm dont associate with them too much, they are spiritually weak etc etc" i remember feeling so sorry for them but i just had to adhere to jah and his organisational ways.............sheesh !!!
and i was told that was being christian.. j gull.

***Part Six***The Long Long Road
by zev inpart 6. the long long road.. in reflection upon the last 6 years, i'd have to say this was the longest road of my life.. it had become apparent to me i was changing.
the things about the watchtower that bothered me became more and more disturbing.
so much so, that rather than face these things, i buried them away, and would not talk about my "faith" like everyone else.. i became a follower, rather than the leader i once was.

Body piercing?
by collegegirl inok.... question - what is wrong with body piercing?
i personally feel it is a method of self expression.
i mean, i would never go and get everthing possible pierced, but i do have 2 holes in each ear, and a newly acquired belly ring.. i got my belly done 3 weeks ago, on spring break.

Load of crap
by yumbby inin reading previous posts, i had to notice how many of the threads deal with people in the organization who have had serious problems and instead of getting help from the elders, they are driven away sometimes into suicide or a life of severe depression.
it reminds me of my sister.
when i was being reproved for leaving home, i was trying to make the point of why i had to leave the way i did and i related that 2 months earlier my sister had ran away because of a beating my mother had given her, and my sister thought my mother was going to kill her.

Jehovah's Witnesses get persecuted more by their own religion
by MsMcDucket indon't you agree?
it's like being married to an abuser.
he/she keeps asking you to do things that you know are not right, they say that they hurt you because you deserved it, they keep asking you for all your money to prove that you love them, they shut you off from your family--leaving you broke with no where to run, they play twisted mind games (if you don't do it, you must not love me.).

advice giving
by yumbby init's really amazing the changes you go through getting away from the "troof".. things you didn't even know affected you.
like compulsive advice giving.
did you ever notice that witnesses are conditioned to have an answer for everything???

Dinner Impossible, not so impossible
by Layla33 ini am not sure if there are any other food network followers, but i love to cook, so i love the network.
i actually really enjoyed "dinner impossible", it was fun and witty and i liked that they would give him impossible tasks to feed huge amounts of people and he would most often come through.. alas, he lied about his experience and having cooked for the royals and presidents.
it's kind of sad, but now they are yanking the show.
