  seat saving

  if the society really wanted to make some dough, they would release a book covering the art of seat saving.. several times we had people move our stuff and just take our seats.

  we had 9 in our extended family so we usually took up a good amt of space.

  the men in the family went early to get seats so the girls could stay home and get ready.

  New Congregation

  ok. we ran a thread recently about starting a new religion.. how about we start an international congregation here on the board.. we need 7 elders.

  7 being a sign of perfection..er....yeah.. we need ministerial servants.. appointments will be general concensus..er holy spirit i mean.. p.o.

  i am over 30 and have been out of the "organization" for almost 14 years now.

  my father is an elder who's main concern is kissing up to the c.o.

  so he can move up the ranks and be important.

  JW's & The Clergy

  after i left the organization one of the things that surprised me most was the clergy of christendom's view of jehovah's witnesses.

  i thought we were the 'center' of their attention, and they not only hated us, but were afraid of all the things we published about them.. nothing could have been farther from the truth!

  most ministers hardly knew anything about witnesses.

  I was discussing with my 18 year old step son, this very issue yesterday. (when the JW step children reach 18 I pull out all the stops and when we discuss religion, which is often, I challenge them directly.) At any rate, he seems to agree that now even the JW's have a clergy class (I hate the term "class" YUCK! sounds like a marxist term not a religious one). He also agrees that the JW's are just as bad as the rest of "Christendom" on these type issues. Hope for the boy yet, he beleives in voting, is beginning to question the 1914 date, etc.

  What will they do? obviously censor this individual (is it you?) On a side note I did attempt to register, being completely honsest that I was NOT a JW, I'll update you if they let me post, somehow I doubt it. They aren't even letting people post News Releases there anymore because they're "too controversial" WAY TO GO SILENTLAMBS.

  funny old life isnt it....

  i was just looking out the window, as it would happen a middle aged woman, or perhaps a young woman worn out with her life walked past.

  she stopped on the edge of the mall where my wifes office is, and sat on a bench outside the window.

  on close look, she couldnt have been more than late 30's, but probably only 35.. she sat for a while just looking at the ground in front of her, her face just exhibiting that blank look of the world weary.

  Deacon,

  I think you've hit on something important here, I truly beleive this is the reason so many former JWs become agnostic or atheist. Rememeber that the promises of Christ are in NO WAY made void because of the lies of the WTBTS. I hope you can find renewed hope in Jesus Christ, who really does have all the answers, just not as pat as those offered by the BORG. God Bless you in your struggle.

  it's a general question for anyone, and it's a very personal one that requires personal answers.

  i'm not asking what the bible says, what science says, what the dictionary says, or what your mother says.

  i'm asking how you, as an individual with your own ideas, feelings and perceptions, conceptualize spirituality.
