Can marriage survive infidelity??

my best friend, jamilynne, comes over this morning for coffee.

i haven't seen her in awhile, guess she had been busy........she's been really busy, i find out today!.

she tells me that she cheated on her husband, with a man she works with.

My brother-in-law cheated on my sister, she then did the same(I have no clue why.

Makes me think of couples with an 'open marriage'. The idea generally is that if both parties are okay BEFOREHAND with the idea of their partner 'sleeping around', it can still work.

I'd probably be okay with such a thing too, if agreed to BEFOREHAND. (And by 'before hand,' I mean 'before the marriage'. Discussing having an open or closed marriage after the wedding is just bad form and probably would break trust - if you want an open marriage, make sure your partner does to before you get wed)

The important thing to remember, IMHO, is that marriage consists of more than just sex. It is a lifelong relationship/partnership built on a foundation of trust. Having sex with someone outside the marriage DOES NOT necessarily 'break' the marriage. Doing so WHEN THE OTHER PARTY EXPECTS FIDELITY and TRUSTS you to maintain it *does* break the marriage.

Well, trust is right out for now. Which damages the marriage.

Things like this make me sick, though. My parents marriage died of similar reasons, and it is just sad to see what lack of communication can do.

She obviously had SOME problem with their marriage - and for those who are married, you know that small problems can become BIG irritants if not addressed.

Was she the communication problem? Was he? Were there other issues?

Honestly, and I intend this in the politest way, it's probably not your concern, and you *might* want to stay out of it. If you start offering advice, she might start arguing with him using you as a proxy "Well, Butalbee said this, and this, etc" and try to guilt him into staying somehow by implying more people on on her side.

Only advice *I'd* give is: go see a marriage counselor. Even if only she will go at first, it can help. Or not. Just stay out of it - if it does go to divorce when one party does not want it...well...from experience I can tell you...it can get REALY ugly.

is a little story about two teenagers 'caught' praying at macdonalds.

apparently the two teenagers felt the need to explain to an onlooker that they were praying to a 'different' god, or in the words of the article "not just any god".. i'm curious, which god was this?

here in the south US, it is not uncommon to find folks praying over their meals

I've noticed this on my business trips down there. Freaky, to say the least. But, I guess it's were dubya comes from, so...explains a lot...

I've certainly never seen it happen up here in Yankee territory (from the fine state of Ohio, myself)

If a nuke hits Washington, will your life change?

as you may or may not know, the bush administration has set up a shadow government in the usa, with its memebers already securely located in underground bunkers and now we are learning that washington dc is being surrounded radiation and gamma ray detectors which would tip off the delta forces on standby that a nuclear weapon had been brought into the area.

the government concedes that they do expect a possible nuclear strike by terrorists.. while it may not come from ben ladin, there are other countries who appear to have made more progress in securing nuclear weapons by either buying them illegally or making their own.

the really bad news is that they also have much more of an incentive now to use them against the usa as our government has launched a war against their countries (i.e.

(And, if not, why the hell not? Best PC game ever made - it's an action/rpg game with a good plot dealing with a conspiracy involving FEMA, the UN, the Illuminati, Area 51, French Underground, terrorists, etc. etc. Boy, it's loaded, and 2 years old to boot, so it's in the bargain bin in most shops).

In any case, I belong to a couple mailing lists with more than a few particle physicists, weapons engineers, and naval officers on them. (No, I'm none of those, but many are involved in writing SciFi pen-and-paper simulations as realistic as possible, and that interests me). So, although I have no first-hand knowledge of what I speak, I do correspond frequently with those who do.

First, the EMP weapons would suck. But, their range (at the car- and computer-breaking lethality) is VERY short. Hundred miles at most, from low orbit. High orbit gains you nothing, as the Van Allen belts absorb most of the radiation. Low altitude gains you nothing either, the range decreases quite a bit. IIRC, an EMP detonating at ground level in a major city only had a 12-mile effect zone. It is important to note these weapons are a LOT harder to make than regular nukes, too.

Second, radiation detectors have advanced in sensitivity quite a bit in the last few years, and we can fairly safely assume that terrorists will not have the resources to both build and properly shield a nuke. I think the precautions in place are capable enough to detect one entering the 'protected' cities. Whether or not anything can be done about it once that happens, though....?? (Aside, of course, from evacuating the government)

firstly may i state i have not visited or am aware of the site you visited, but if i may offer a reply.

i showed my wife this information and she was shocked to find out there is a pyramid with a cross on it at russells grave.

she printed all information and went to ask her jw dad about it.

when you think of all those suffering today and throughout the generations, and all this happened just because two inexperienced people went up against a powerful spirit creature and lost.!.

now, if someone is in jail, lets say for something like stealing, someone can perhaps pay for their release on bail.
