Yeah those evil Masons and thier hospitals...I knew ill children and Fez wearing go cart riders ruled the world...Talk about exclusive. They don't knock on doors recruiting. The don't force attendance. They have funny, yet intriguing handshakes, and come from all kinds of different religious experiences. They have mini orgs for the kiddies and cool rings. I've had personal interaction with many Hella Shriners in Dallas and I can say they have all been very nice. Not exactly Illuminati material if you ask me. I spent many many days at the Shriners hospital while my kid was being cared for. You have to be sponsored/recomended by a mason to get treatment there. They take superior care of the godesses and the godless....As for all the paranoids that think they are into world domination, make sure you're just not jealous. Either that or invent your own dam handshake and get a life.
Sincerely,

Living forever or immortal ?
by Simon injust a thought ... when describing jws and what they believe, be sure to tell people that they think they are immortal and will never die as this seems to sound a bit more 'looney tunes' than that they will live forever.. well, does to me anyway.
did you ever imagine how it sounded to joe public on the door while you showed them a crappy picture of 'paradise' from the livre forever book?
i'm sure the person was thinking:.

Hey Simon, if there is a finite amount of matter and space in the Universe, as some flavors of cosmology and physics profer, and are all other pieces of carbon from previous people, we might be labelled the largest schizo organism to ever exist. We talk to ourselves, fight ourselves, kill ourselves, chat with ourselves, meet in large groups to have dinner with our chatting selves, get ourselves drunk, marry ourselves, spwan ourselves, etc....Blah, Blah, Blah.....

The Environmental Crimes of the WTS
by Mindchild inthe environmental crimes of the wts
this is a thread that ive been wanting to do for a long time but havent really had the time to do the research needed to flesh out things completely.
the objective of my research is to show the true environmental cost of being a jehovahs witness and furthermore to prepare the information for publication in online environmental websites for the intent of rallying support to change wts policies to make their organization more environmentally friendly.. perhaps this is a strange concept for many of you reading this because we normally dont think of the watchtower society as a dirty industry.
-
Valis
Why worry about the environment when jehovah is going to clean everything up and destroy all the wicked world sooner or later? For that matter, why have a savings account, or go to college, or become well read? It will all be ok....I agree w/you Mind entirely. All those books that get written in and thrown away, and WTs and Awakes make quite a pile of dead trees to say the least,

Spirits/Entities - A question for all.

I always found it amusing that people believed in real demons, and the extent they would go to validate thier belief...smurfs are one example, JWs not going into churches is another, being afraid of games like Dungeons & Dragons yet another, I could go on...just like believing Dog is taking care of his creatures and there are entities leading the world to its armageddon who oppose him, which is all proven in the bible...big viscious circle if you ask me. I have too many personal demons to believe there are things I can't see through empirical eveidence, that are doing anything to anyone. Spirituality has always been a manmade construct and will always be just that. Perhaps Cowboy can loan you a pair of boots for treading through life and believing in such bullshit.

Why Is It That Americans Here Never.....
by Englishman inslag off us brits?.
i read all these posts (mainly by a couple of cuddly norwegians) about how the us needs to get it's act together, then there's a flurry of ripostes, the occasional nasty dig, a few generalisations and then the whole thing peters out until some bright spark feels the urge to start off the mischief once again.. well, im sick and tired of belonging to a perfect race and living in a perfect country.
the uk obviously has the best economy, the best soccer teams, the best monarchy, the best teeth, the best cuisine, the best weather, the best tv, the best armed forces, the best penal system, the best paranoids,.

We all know who Europe calls when the Krauts start acting up...*L* Did anyone hear what the US Olympic Hockey coach said in response to the German coach? The German coach said he was looking forward to playing the US and the US coach said "Yeah, that's why Germany lost WW II"...Amusing, but crude. I was having a conversation with a friend the other day, and he was in typical hippie fashion bashing the US versus all the "cultured" countries of Europe and the Middle East...my response was, "I suppose we either got the best or worst of all those countries...and the leftovers who stayed home are just jealous"...I wish in lots of ways the US was more like many European countries in respect to education, medicine, the environment, etc, but we do have more chicks per capita than most other countries...God Bless America!!

Insurance for Part Timers
by joelbear ini am still brainstorming my insurance dilemna.
any suggestions on companies that offer health insurance to part timers.
either kinds of companies or specific companies that you know of.. i live in atlanta georgia.. thanks.
-
Valis
Without more info its hard to get a specific insurance company to fit your needs Joel. Depending on what type of work you do, there are lots of associations that offer insurance plans to thier members, like the legal profession, sales people, consultants, etc. The best place to start is any professional organization you might be a part of, or could be a prt of based on whatever kind of work you do. The following URL is a simple search, but you will see what I'm talking about after you browse through.
