Dallas has all kinds of drinking establishments. Try tappas sometime dear, its Middle Eastern fare, kind of like appetizers. Who says you have to be gay to go to a gay bar? Best drinks, drugs, debauchery (by both sexes) ever. Milk bars are an old 70's reference, but we have one. Fubar is Unix fuck up term, try a search engine. I don't have to make it up when I don't live or believe in make believe.

how many of you have gotten them since leaving or piercings?

i got my ear pierced right after i left and when i was living at home my dad said i couldn`t have it on in the house.i got a tatto about six years ago the look on my dads face was priceless at the beach but he never said anything.. beans.

U.S. vs. UK pubs

i have this steriotype in my mind regarding uk pubs.

i see them as friendly places where people in the neighborhood congregate for friendly visits.

englishman's comments seem to fit that description.

First off you forgot gay bars, sushi bars, wine bars, Tappas bars, all nude establishments, swinger bars, coke bars, laundry bars, milk bars, and fubars...I know lots of places where you can drink and fraternize w/different and pleasant people. You have to get out and about and away from jw.com to find such places...

Education Issues.......Help!

i was out last night with a jw but who is not attending.

he is in his early 30s, is on his second marriage but now separated.

i've known him for 15 yrs or so.

I have people in my classes all the time that have lost thier jobs, gone through midlife crisis, or just want to go back to school. Encourage him by all means to return to school and at least try it. My other piece of advice would be to suggest to him that he start slow and take at least one class in something that interests him like music, art, litterature, computers, etc, while taking an academic subject. This will help him get acclimated to school and not burn himself out. Let me know if I can be of any help.

I think metatron is right, I think its the human mind will get us to the next stage of our evolution as a species. Maybe living in space or other planet? I do think however that our bodies will always evolve for good or for worse. As long as things like AIDS and other diseases become resistant to our drugs, our bodies will slowly adapt to them as well, hence evolution. Its either that or we will go the way of cro-magnon and other pre-homo sapien human like beings.

Wey Hey An Invitation To Meet PRINCE CHARLES

what excellent news came in this mornings post.

an invitation to travel upto london on the 26th of february to meet prince charles at the opening ceremony of the bromley by bow centre at which lord peyton will also be in attendance.. really, really looking forward to it.

the invitation came through from the community action network, can't wait, wey heyyyyyyy!!.

What is your ex-JW retirement plan?

i have been talking to a few people in chat recently about retirement strategies for ex-dubs.

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize that many people who exit the borg are really in a very poor situation in terms of their retirement prospects.

if it wasnt bad enough that there was always the pressure to avoid higher education and the corresponding quality jobs afforded by such, many dubs were just plain conned out of their resources by the borg in thinking that the end was just around the corner and you should pioneer, even if it meant selling your assets, going into debt, or turning down good job opportunities.

Most who have worked and contributed to Social Security will get about $600-1000.00 a month when they retire at the appropriate age. Now for the crazy side...most JWs never save a dime because they really think the end will come before they are dead. Kind of like Heaven's Gate, "just eat your pudding and everything will be OK....", don't worry about after you swallow false teaching that ends up killing you and your spirit.
