Will JW's Emulate Catholics?

news article in today's paper is entitled "credit catholics for cleaning house" by stanley crouch (new york daily news).

"somehow in our nation we are almost always called upon to lead the way when it comes to things of human concern.. "that is why, after all these years of the catholic church's hiding behind cathedral doors, miters and robes, we should be glad that boston's cardinal bernard law has ignored the dictates of rome and called on his clergy to report to the police all the charges of sexual abuse of children by priests..............."

It is my sincere hope that the WT never lasts as long as the Catholic church. You will notice too, that in many cases, it took years for the abused to come forward. It would really take a mass "coming out" of those molested to achieve such a goal.

I find it disturbing, but not unusual that the Wt doesn't even trust thier own congregational members to come forward and be truthful about wrongdoing. As well, it seems that by not going to the police in regards to pedophilia charges, or getting rid of the "2 witnesses to the offense" rule, then it is the GB, WT and respective Judicial Committees that are bearing false witness. I tried to broach this subject with my mom about this by sending her the silentlambs website and the reaction I got was to be suspected. She spooked out and said the website was demonized and she wouldn't read any of it. She's a hardliner though and much like your average JW in good standing refuses to believe all is pie in the sky. Thanks for your post. I also recently listened to your real audio interview. And as a father myslef, thanks for going to bat for the JW kiddies.

Dreamt A Little Dream

i think i had a vision the other night..or at least the after effects of staying up for too many hours in a row...there i was in my dream walking along and i came across this big house with a big dog on the porch reading a book.

i went up to the house and the dog told me to take my shoes off if i wanted to go in.

i did and walked into the house to find any number of freakish looking people/creatures talking and doing chores and eating and hanging out.

None of them looked normal so I asked who they were, lo and behold, one with a really mutated head and eyes told me that I was in the home of the apostates. They all lived together forever in a paradise home. I stayed for quite some time until I woke up. I guess I'm trying to say I must have been thinking of you all in my sleep. Just thought you might like to know.

CLEAN HOMES,YARDS,AND CARS

remember how we were taught that if we kept our homes, yards and cars clean it would bring honor to jehovah and serve as a witness to our neighbors?.

we really thought people would look at our freshly mowed lawn and they would think, "those people must represent the true god jehovah?".

those people never connected god to any of those things!.

The average JW family doesn't have time to clean house..it goes something like this..

Monday: Study for Tuesday night meeting

Tuesday: Work then come home get ready and go to meeting

Wednesday: Study for Thusday night study at least favorite elder's house.

Thursday: Work then come home get ready and go to bible study at least favorite elder's house.

Friday: Ummm...this is the day of temptation for JWs and should not be mentioned for moral reasons...probably should be tending to home bible study, or do call backs after work.

Saturday: Get up early, go out in service, come home beat...several hours later study for Sunday.

Sunday: Get up early, go to meeting, then service or if you were lucky go to large obnoxious lunch with people you really don't like, then attend some JW "get together" or sporting event, go home and get ready to do it all over again.

Not much time to do chores needless to say.
