Several times, while living in California, I would see a table set up at an outdoors mall with all of the literature sitting there. Usually, two sisters would be sitting there. I never saw them approach anyone, they just sat there in case someone wanted to "get saved". I thought that was a pretty easy way to get your time in.

What CHARLES MANSON and FRED FRANZ have in common...
by Terry incharles manson and fred franz had something in common.
both believed the end of the world was coming.
franz believed it would start by the governments destroying religion.

Have you read the Revelation Climax book lately? ;) A man who sees in the convention of an obscure Adventist offshoot held in Cedar Point Ohio nothing less than the fulfillment of Gawd-inspired Bible prophecy is "that far gone" and then some. lol
My thoughts exactly. As a believing dub I always found this to be really stretching things. I would look around the book study and wonder how all of these seemingly intelligent people could be swallowing the bs.

I was thinking about this the other day. My MIL is a pioneer and pretty much lives on a fixed income. I wonder how long it will be before she has to quit pioneering. I would imagine quite a few pioneers will drop out before too long if gas keeps going up. Most pioneers barely survive as it is on a part time job. Not to mention that groceries have sky-rocketed, at least in my area. My husband and I have good jobs and even we are feeling it.

The Republican Party Frustrates me!
by free2beme inbeing a former witness, when i first left the religion, i thought it would be a good idea to stick with a party that was fairly conservative in their stand.
although, in many ways i did not agree with them, i liked the republicans more then the democrats.
so i registered republican.

There is a Libertarian party in this country and they do have a candidate for President.
I actually watched the Libertarian debates and was quite impressed with several of the candidates. I liked Bob Barr okay, not crazy about Root...wish he had picked the woman (can't remember her name). Everyone says that a libertarian doesn't have a chance in hell of winning, but really wish the American people would open up to the idea.

So, most of the time I lean toward being a libertarian.
I'm with you...If the election were held today, I would have to vote for the libertarian candidate. I relate most closely to their ideals.

Right. You wouldn't want to take the car into the city. But...!! There are trains and other transportation to use and I think you would really enjoy it. Talk to someone at your hotel and find a simple City destination - a museum, a store, the NY Public Library, a park. It's really a fun city and so much to see. It would be a shame if you didn't at least go for a few hours.
That's a great idea. I have been to the city a couple of times before and had a blast.

is NYC too far away?
Probably so...I will have a rental car to use, I think, but not sure I want to venture into NYC by myself. I'm a big girl but driving in major traffic when I am unfamiliar with the place un-nerves me a bit.

Anyone know where that is? Anyone close to there? I will be there from July 22nd til the 28th. My hubby will be in meetings all day so I will need to keep myself entertained. I guess it's about 30 miles from Newark. If anyone one lives near there, pm me, I would love to meet up and have lunch or something.

HOSPICE IS FANTASTIC! Had to shout it out. They really helped our family when my mom passed away. So sorry that you have to go through this. My mom suffered the same disease so I feel for you.

Elder's WIFE in college!
by hardhearted ini bet this is different than a minor child in college... i can only hope that the new information from the co will cause a lot of jw's and elders to scratch their heads and consider what exactly is going on here.
if this information causes an exodus of elders... that is very good.
imagine, an elder being removed because his wife is in college.

How dare her! If she's got that kind of time and money, she should be pioneering.
