problemaddict 2, None of the other relatives (including the host) had no idea that this was even brought up by this one relative. With her, I'm not quite sure what to even say to her, because at the moment she's upset with us for something that was completely out of our control. She'll get over it though, because she and her nephew (my husband) is very close. They have more of a brother/sister relationship, because they are so close in age, and they grew up together. I'm going to let him handle it, because he will know the right things to say to her, and he will when he's ready.

Heartafire, a few years before my husband and I left that cult, it was his brother who came over to our home, and informed us that we and our children would die at Armageddon. Now mind you, I was still going to the meetings, and going out in service (when I could find the time), and hadn't even thought about leaving. His wife, my own sister, the one I mentioned that was at the family reunion, she would always make stuff up about my family and I, just to make herself look good with our parents. In case it's a little confusing, but my husband's brother is married to my sister. When we left that cult, those were the type of people we left behind. It's been almost 16 years since I last saw those people, 16 years too soon in my book. I can only picture the outrageous stories she is going to spread after today.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your replies. My family and I did attend the family reunion, and as the JW relatives had planned, showed up late, assuming that we would be gone by the time they arrived. One of them pulled my husband aside as asked for us to leave. My husband's reply to him was rolling his eyes, and said, "Yea, what ever. We'll leave when were good and ready, and not when you say so." There was an F bomb placed in there as well.
Anyways I did see the woman who use to be my biological sister there as well. But I made sure that I was totally ignoring her, I know that this would burn her to no end, because she was the one who is suppose to do the shunning. There was no love loss in the beginning, because I absolutely can not stand the site of her, even when back when I was still a JW.
The family reunion went off really well, and I got to see family members that I hadn't seen in years. I'm thinking that the relative that originally asked us to leave early in a message was only doing that, so to convince the JW relatives that we would not be there by the time they arrived. But it still ticked me off, her even bringing this up, but that's under the bridge now.
As far as doing any anti witnessing, I never had to do this, because most of the family (who are not JWs) have already seen first hand the ugly side to those people. Their actions towards us, back when we first left, acatually prevented several relatives from evening joining that cult. I did think it was pretty funny how my husband handled his brother though. He a very blunt man, and he doesn't care who he says it to, well except for me, because he doesn't want like seeing my red hair flair towards him. lol

Hello everyone, it's been quite a while since I was last on this forum. Originally I was under a different user name, but lost all that information when I moved to a different state. Anyways, I had left the JWs back in 2001, after being raised up in it most of my childhood life. I don't know if they still use this term, but back then my husband and I sent in our dissociation letters. At the time I had done quite a bit of research to make sure I was making the right decision, after all quite a few of both my husband's and myself, our relatives are JWs. As a result of our decision, our children were able to grow up to be true to who they really are. They are both two well adjusted young men who are very happy with their lives, who haven't had to deal with the heartache of being cut off from their loved ones. They were quite young when we came to this decision. Those relatives are nothing but strangers to them.
Anyways, most of the time I'm perfectly fine, but there are times such as today, I feel that those PEOPLE love poking at wounds that have long since closed. At the moment it feels more like they are poking a bear with a stick, and me being the bear, a very grumpy bear, one that is just waking up from it's hibernation. Not to go into too much detail, but what is going on, we are having a family reunion. Most of those attending will be non-JWs, but they are jumping though hoops for the few JW relatives that are going to be there. I was informed just the day before this was to take place, that for a couple of hours of the reunion, we are allowed to be there, and then we have to leave. So the JW relatives won't throw a stink and make a big scene, like they did the last time. At the moment I'm in half a mind to not even bother, yet on the other hand I have always refused to play by their (JW) games.

I refuse to go because I just hate those people that much, that if it were my mom's funeral I still would not go. He understands my reason for not going, and he is completely ok with it.
This will be his first JW funeral to attend since he left that cult, and there will be quite a few of his JW relatives there. Another aunt (also not a JW) told him that she has his back and that he can sit with her during the funeral, which will be held at the kingdom hall. I have read complete horror stories of those who were no longer JWs and their trials of dealing with the JWs, during their time of grief.
He is not quiet sure on what to expect, so I am asking for him to you all. He is looking for suggestion on what to do, or to even deal with "those" people. He was completely shocked this evening when his brother actually called him and told him about the funeral earlier this evening. He has not spoken to his brother in over 10 years. It was a short converation, just basically telling him the address of the congeration where the funeral is going to be at. Apparently they built a new kingdom hall three years ago.
If any respond to this post, he will be reading them. The only reason he does not ask himself, is that he does not deal with the internet, or typing at a keyboard. If he tried to type this out, it would take him nearly a whole day. Thank you, oh yes, my husband's name is David.

My very last convention was in 1994. I could not afford to go to anymore after that. That year my car broke down on the way home, and then some woman, who was not paying attention, backed into my car and wrecked it. I was also just to afraid to go on a trip after that. Now if someone says, about how that was a long time ago. Well a few years later I attempted to go on a trip that was out of town. Guess what, my truck broke down. The transmission went out, and again I was stranded. Never again will I ever go on a trip out of town.

Snare&racket.... If it was not real and only in my mind, then why did they physically try to cause the vehicle I was in to crash? And in the case of the second time to actually crash. I was not the driver either.

Snare&Racket....You asked me how many demons have I seen and interacted with, right off the top I can tell you that there were two different demons whom I have interacted with, and both times they tried to kill me. Where I saw them was in the the parking lots of two different kingdoms halls. My husband was driving both times, and I was in the front passenger seat. The first time was at a congeration in Missouri. It was on a Sunday morning, during one of their meetings. Outside in the parking lot I could see a whole host of demons dancing around in the parking lot around the cars. One happen to notice that I was looking straight at it, and faster than I could blink my eyes he was over next to my truck, grabbed the steering will and tried to cause an accident.
The second time, about 4 years later, was also in the parking lot of another congeration in Arkansas, but this time it was on a Saturday, and there were a few cars in the parking lot. Again I noticed this and again one of those creatures saw me looking at it. This time around it did something to my back wheel, and ripped out park of the rubber. It was enough to cause my husband to loose control over the Ford Bronco. We happened to slam into some barrels that was a barrer to a bridge.
Both time the things I saw looked like reptilian, with long skinny legs, arms, and fingers, and very ugly. The only reason I call them demons is that as soon as they saw me, besides doing what they did, they also vanished to where I could not see them.

I was a teen at the time and never had any Smurf items, but my younger sister sure did. She had a doll, a drinking glass, and a pair of slippers. She even had them for quite a while with no problems. Then all of a sudden the Watchtower came out about something on how they are demonic. I can tell you one thing, when it comes to supernatural stuff I'm a little more sensitive with it. I'm not going to go into all the details, but if there is a spirit around I can sense it. Anyways, back to my sister's Smurf items, until the Watchtower actually came out about it there was not any problems with "demonic" activities, and I use that world very loosely. All of a sudden one day, after a talk was given, my sister's Smurf glass fell and broke. There was nothing "supernatural" about it, it fell and it broke, nothing more or less. With just hearing that talk only a few days earlier, mom got it in her head that the "brothers" must be correct, and she threw away all my sister's Smurf items. The story of the broken glass took off like wild fire, and slightly changed to fit, what the Watchtower had been saying was true. I was there the day that glass was broken, and I can tell you that there was no "demonic" activities going on that day.

Are you really an Apostate, according to the WT ?
by Phizzy inperusing the coverage of the 2013 dc spewings about apostates, the wt claims that apostates are "liars" and speak "twisted things".
this is their definition of apostates.. now, the reality is that sites such as paul's excellent jwfacts.com, books like coc and isocf, by ray franz, the works of olaf jonsson, penton and others, all write what is true !.
we are careful on here to present that which is true, at least i hope we are !.

I was called an Apostate once by my brother-in-law. My only crime was doing research on the Watchtower, only using all their past publications. I was not sharing any of this information with anyone but my husband. The only reason why he found out was, he popped over for a "visit" one day, and I did not have time to hide the stuff.
When he called me a stupid woman and an apostate, my husband lost it and told him, "Then the Watchtower must be an Apostate with God", because I was using only their literature. I was only using the internet as a guide on where and what to look for, pages and paragraphs, and which publication to look in. When my husband told him that, all of a sudden my brother-in-law went silent, and that was the end of that. One thing a person does not do is to attack me like that, or my dear hubby will go off on them. He nearly beat the snot out of his brother that very night. The only thing stopping him was there were about 4 police officers right outside. They were there because our next door neighbor was fighting again. This all went down at 1 am, yes, that bozo would come over for visits at weird hours.
