Are you really an Apostate, according to the WT ?

Perusing the coverage of the 2013 DC spewings about Apostates, the WT claims that Apostates are "Liars" and speak "Twisted things". This is their definition of Apostates.

Now, the reality is that sites such as Paul's excellent JWFacts.com, books like CoC and ISOCF, by Ray Franz, the works of Olaf Jonsson, Penton and others, all write what is TRUE !

We are careful on here to present that which is true, at least I hope we are !

So the above mentioned books are not "apostate literature" according to the WT's criteria, and we are not Apostates.

Just truth speaking "opposers" I suppose.

    exactly!

The people who are twisted, and who twist your brain are the ones who make "the truth" a lie.

The song, "Make the Truth Your Own," should be:

"Make the truth a lie, suck it uuup and please don't crrrryyyyy."

    "We are NARsiSIStic MOOOOnnnneeyyy loverrrs"

"Do it our way, or just diiiiieeeee"

    It's all subjective to WT.

If WT lies ("theocratic war strategy"), misquotes, cherry-picks source material or refuses to acknowledge all the facts = acceptable.

Anyone who exposes the above-mentioned WT tactics with the truth = liars/apostates.

DATA-DOG just posted an excellent example of WT lies:

I just thought it would be an interesting thing to say when introducing a JW to JWFacts.com for example:

"It is not an Apostate site, because it writes only the truth, if you find anything amiss there, e-mail the owner, he will change it, but it is not an apostate site."

We need to spike the WT's guns with their fear-mongering about apostasy, the real Truth cannot be "Apostate" according to the WT.

According to the "Shepherding The Flock 2010 " manual for elders apostasy is apretty wide reaching term.

"16. Apostasy: Apostasy is a standing away from

true worship, a falling away, defection, rebellion,

    abandonment. It includes the following:

Celebrating false religious holidays: (Ex. 32:

4-6; Jer. 7:16-19) Not all holidays directly involve

false religion and require judidal action.

Participation in interfaith activities: (2 Cor.

    6:14, 15, 17, 18) Apostate acts include bowing before

altars and images and sharing in false religious

    songs and prayers.-Rev. 18:2, 4.

    Deliberately spreading teachings contrary

to Bible truth as taught by Jehovah's Witnesses:

    (Acts 21 :21, fin.; 2 John 7, 9, 10) Any

with sincere doubts should be helped. Firm,

loving counsel should be given. (2 Tim. 2:16-19,

23-26; Jude 22, 23) If one obstinately is speaking

about or deliberately spreading false teachings,

this may be or may lead to apostasy. If there is

no response after a first and a second admonition,

a judicial committee should be formed.

    -Titus 3:10,11; w8910/1 p. 19; w86 4/1 pp. 30-

    31; w86 3/15 p. 15.

Causing divisions and promoting sects: This

would be deliberate action disrupting the unity

of the congregation or undermining the confidence

of the brothers in Jehovah's arrangement.

It may involve or lead to apostasy.-Rom. 16:17,

    18; Titus 3:10, 11; it-2 p. 886.

Continuing in employment that makes one

an accomplice to or a promoter of false

worship would subject one to disfellowshipping

after being allowed a reasonable amount of

time, perhaps up to six months, to make the

    needed adjustments.-w99 4(15 pp. 28-30; km

    9(76 pp. 3-6.

    • The practice of spiritism.-Deut. 18:9-13; 1 Cor.

    10:21, 22; Gal. 5:20.

I guess they can make what they like out of that!

If you believe all the things the WT taught a couple of years ago, you are an "apostate" today.

I was aware of this much broader definition BB, but thanks, of course the average R&F JW is not going to be familiar with this material, what will stick in their mind, not that much does, is the latest from the DC.

It suits my purpose, I can claim all sorts of stuff is "not Apostate" based on the DC talks !

Edited to add a comment based on what Ding just said: Yes, spot on ! it occurred to me as soon as this Noo Lite shat out, sorry, shone out, that the "truth" they were going to DF me for not believing a few years ago, is no longer the "truth" !

"unity" = we all have to believe the same error.

"Jehovah's arrangement" = whatever the Watchtower says it is.

The irony of their position about causing divisions etc is that it based on the writings of Paul where he commands that they only teach and stick to what they have "learned".

None of the unique teachings of the WT/JW's are found in Pauls writings, he simply endorsed "Christ, resurrected" as the only truth learned.

Paul would certainly view the WT of today as what it is, a devisive sect. It has "condemned itself".
