Do you play the LOTTERY?
by Fisherman injw view gambling as a sin and sadly people get addicted to gambling causing them financial and health problems.
but is playing a couple of bucks a week on some lottery tickets actually gambling?
what do you have to lose?

"in the playing of dice of men" also translated "trickery of men" at Ephesians 4:14...
"So we should no longer be children, tossed about as by waves and carried here and there by every wind of teaching by means of the trickery of men, by means of cunning in deceptive schemes."
According to this verse, every single JW is "gambling" with their life when they follow the leaders of the WTBT$.
(It seems to me that buying a lotto ticket is a lot safer bet than following the GB/FD$. "If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.")

@nicolaou, I am now dismissive of evolutionary science too😜, but I love atheists. 🥰🫶(That's my background - they're my peeps...)
@Vander and @LongHairGal, I agree with you that he has some nice videos and his experience with the JC at the WT shows the ridiculousness of the JWBorg.
What I see happening with Eric is something similar to the Solomon/Jeroboam thing in the Bible, where Jeroboam initially was approved by God but then went and made his own golden calves in Bethel for the people to worship. Eric saw the hypocrisy in the JWBorg and was hurt by it, but then he went and established another cult somewhere else. It has elements of truth woven in, but also elements of falsehood that lead his followers to sin against Jehovah just as much as the WTBT$. When you confront him on this, he reacts just like Jeroboam did. His "altars" and false doctrines will be torn down too when all religious institutions are removed shortly. He would do well to dissolve his 501c before that time, but he won't listen.
@EricWilson: "Woe whenever all men speak well of you, for this is what their forefathers did to the false prophets."
"This is what Jehovah the God of Israel says concerning you, Barʹuch, ‘You have said: “Woe to me, for Jehovah has added grief to my pain! I am weary from my groaning, and I have found no resting-place.”’ “You should say to him, ‘This is what Jehovah says: “Look! What I have built up I am tearing down, and what I have planted I am uprooting—the entire land. But you are seeking great things for yourself. Stop seeking such things.”’ “‘For I am about to bring a calamity on all flesh,’ declares Jehovah, ‘and wherever you may go, I will grant you your life as a spoil.’"
"Open reproof is better than concealed love."

When I questioned Eric Wilson via email about his "donations" arrangement, he reacted negatively. Then when I tried to talk to him on his forum, he blocked the comment and posted a different "Good News Association" link (his 501c is also registered under that name, but there are several with that name - his name is on the linked IRS paperwork below) and said basically "that's not me" in order to mislead his "flock" that he is happily fleecing to finance his trips to Europe. "You received free, give free" means don't charge people for Bible info that should be free. Zoom meetings and a website doesn't cost that much. You can get a Zoom account for a few bucks and you can get a free website from weebly. What's the point in asking for monthly repeated donations? 🤑🤑🤑 He's a fraud who uses fancy vocab words to mislead those who just escaped from JWBorg. (He loves to throw around the word "exegesis" whenever you show him a scripture that doesn't support his false doctrines.) He's happy for people to leave the JWBorg and join him so they can put their donations in his box. He's got a niche. He's a false shepherd tickling the ears of naive sheep. He mixes truth with falsehoods. He has some informative videos, but he mixes in a hook, just like the JWBorg does. If you are wise, you'll stay far away from him.

One of the reasons the attorney general can dissolve a religious corporation is "fraudulent solicitation of funds."
None of the videos or articles on the JWBorg website talk about the millions of dollars used to settle CSA cases.
How many of the videos or articles on the JWBorg website talk about the purchase of a home for an ex-governing body member?
When a person signs up to give a recurring monthly donation, they are sent an automated monthly email from JWBorg that talks about how the donations are used. The stories mention building KHs in far-flung places, or providing literature for less fortunate ones. Nothing is mentioned about the CSA cases and paying for the damage done by pedophiles the JWBorg protected.
The headquarters people don't apologize for the CSA, but they make the rank and file pay for the damages done by it.
They say: "We love you very much!" 🤑🤮

Inurement: "The term inurement is defined as an insider (an officer, director, key employee, or anyone related to those individuals) in a nonprofit unfairly benefiting from a nonprofit’s resources by virtue of position." https://www.501c3.org/dangers-of-nonprofit-inurement-and-private-benefit/
Under "Jeopardizing Tax-Exempt Status", the IRS Publication 1828 (Tax Guide for Churches and Religious Organizations) lists "Inurement and Private Benefit" as possible disqualifying factors of tax-exempt status...also in section on "Special Rules for Compensation of Ministers" under "Parsonage or Housing Allowances" it says "The minister's church or other qualified organization must designate the housing allowance by official action taken in advance of the payment. If a minister is employed and paid by a local congregation, a designation by a national church agency won't be effective. The local congregation must make the designation."
https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1828.pdf
Is the home in North Carolina considered a parsonage? Was the housing allowance designated in advance by official action? Was the local congregation involved, since that is where he is serving? Could the tax-exempt status be jeopardized by means of inurement?
Also, regarding the CSA cases and social damage from shunning, do those put WTBT$ in "violation of public interest" and therefore at risk of being involuntarily dissolved by the attorney general?
Public Interest: "public interest is "the welfare or well-being of the general public" and society." (wikipedia)
"Violation of the public interest means an act that infringes on the health and safety of the public." (ilo.org)

Revelation 6:2-8 are echoed in other parts of Revelation.
Revelation 6:2, first rider, on white horse, Jesus has a crown.
Revelation 14:14 "Then I saw, and look! a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand."
Revelation 19:11-16 "I saw heaven opened, and look! a white horse. And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. His eyes are a fiery flame, and on his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is clothed with an outer garment stained with blood, and he is called by the name The Word of God. Also, the armies in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen. And out of his mouth protrudes a sharp, long sword with which to strike the nations, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. Moreover, he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his outer garment, yes, on his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords."
Second horse, "a fiery-colored horse, and it was granted to the one seated on it to take peace away from the earth so that they should slaughter one another, and he was given a great sword."
Revelation chapter 9 tells about battle and figurative killing.
Third horse, "look! a black horse, and the one seated on it had a pair of scales in his hand. I heard what sounded like a voice in the midst of the four living creatures say: “A quart of wheat for a de·narʹi·us and three quarts of barley for a de·narʹi·us; and do not harm the olive oil and the wine.”"
Revelation 7:16 refers to hunger figuratively...
"They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down on them nor any scorching heat, because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them and will guide them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes."
The fourth horse, "a pale horse, and the one seated on it had the name Death. And the Grave was closely following him. And authority was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a long sword and with food shortage and with deadly plague and by the wild beasts of the earth."
Revelation 9:18-21 ties in figurative "killing" with stopping certain behaviors...
"A third of the people were killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the sulfur that came out of their mouths. For the authority of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with these they inflict harm. But the rest of the people who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands; they did not stop worshipping the demons and the idols of gold and silver and copper and stone and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders nor of their spiritistic practices nor of their sexual immorality nor of their thefts."
The plagues of Revelation on Babylon the Great during the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation "kill" many people to their former false worship so that they come to serve God in truth. Jesus talked to the congregations in chapters 1-3 warning them to repent of unscriptural practices, "So repent. If you do not, I am coming to you quickly, and I will war against them with the long sword of my mouth."
The wild beasts of the earth are governments. It is by means of the governments that Babylon the Great will be eaten up.
The Bible shows that the four horsemen are just another way of describing the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation.

In Response to Anony Mous regarding the 144,000 and other questions...
by EasyPrompt instill, you hold onto false teachings of the wtbts which are only there for the enrichment of its chiefs.. as pointed out, the rest of the book of revelation is figurative, yet you hold that the number 144,000 is literal.
the wtbts currently says that this number is limited to those running the wtbts and that anyone claiming to be part of it outside that self-selecting group could be mentally ill.. by what reasoning (not from wtbts origin) do you believe only 144,000 people will be ‘saved’, and how do you know who is part of this self-selected group, given virtually no other religious denomination does even remotely believe in the literalism of revelation.
do they have to be jws?

Hi Duran🙂
Revelation 1:10
"By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a strong voice like that of a trumpet..."
Revelation 4:1
"After this I saw, and look! an opened door in heaven, and the first voice that I heard speaking with me was like a trumpet..."
Christ's voice from heaven as the executioner of God's judgment is likened to a trumpet. After he is enthroned, he rides vigorously to execute God's judgments, depicted as plagues/thunders/bowls/trumpets.
The trumpet at Revelation 8:7 talks about hail. So do these other places in Revelation...
Revelation 11:19
"And the temple sanctuary of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple sanctuary. And there were flashes of lightning and voices and thunders and an earthquake and a great hail."
Revelation 16:21
"Then great hailstones, each about the weight of a talent, fell from heaven on the people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, for the plague was unusually great."
The trumpet at Revelation 8:8 talks about the sea turning into blood. So does Revelation 16:3 when talking about the second bowl...
"The second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood like that of a dead man, and every living creature died, yes, the things in the sea..."
It's the same idea with all the trumpets. They match other visions in Revelation. The locusts/charging cavalry goes along with the second horseman and the attack on Babylon the Great. Revelation 9:14 and the trumpet about the four angels at the Euphrates matches the four angels at Revelation 7:1,2, and all the other visions with the four living creatures like at Revelation 15:7. It's all the same thing just told in slightly different ways, going through the different parts of the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation.
Revelation 11:19 says "And the temple sanctuary of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple sanctuary. And there were flashes of lightning and voices and thunders and an earthquake and a great hail." Lightning, voice, thunders, earthquake, hail...it's the theme, the plagues, etc, repetition for emphasis.
Revelation 14:8 says Babylon has fallen, but then again in Revelation 16:19 it says "The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell; and Babylon the Great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath." It's the same thing from a different angle.
That the "seventh" trumpet is not really seventh from a linear point of view is shown in that the visions repeat again in chapters 12 and 13, recapping the 3 1/2 year timeline.
The trumpet Paul was talking about ("the last trumpet") was the one Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24:31...
"And he will send out his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity."
That is at the end of the 3 1/2 year great tribulation.
