per request from petrw🙂, some revelation stuff.... .
the four horsemen didn't start in 1914 or earlier- the timing is once jesus is enthroned in heaven.. .
the winds of destruction are on the religious institutions.. .
Revelation 6:2-8 are echoed in other parts of Revelation.
Revelation 6:2, first rider, on white horse, Jesus has a crown.
Revelation 14:14 "Then I saw, and look! a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand."
Revelation 19:11-16 "I saw heaven opened, and look! a white horse. And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness. His eyes are a fiery flame, and on his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is clothed with an outer garment stained with blood, and he is called by the name The Word of God. Also, the armies in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen. And out of his mouth protrudes a sharp, long sword with which to strike the nations, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. Moreover, he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his outer garment, yes, on his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords."
Second horse, "a fiery-colored horse, and it was granted to the one seated on it to take peace away from the earth so that they should slaughter one another, and he was given a great sword."
Revelation chapter 9 tells about battle and figurative killing.
Third horse, "look! a black horse, and the one seated on it had a pair of scales in his hand. I heard what sounded like a voice in the midst of the four living creatures say: “A quart of wheat for a de·narʹi·us and three quarts of barley for a de·narʹi·us; and do not harm the olive oil and the wine.”"
Revelation 7:16 refers to hunger figuratively...
"They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down on them nor any scorching heat, because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them and will guide them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes."
The fourth horse, "a pale horse, and the one seated on it had the name Death. And the Grave was closely following him. And authority was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a long sword and with food shortage and with deadly plague and by the wild beasts of the earth."
Revelation 9:18-21 ties in figurative "killing" with stopping certain behaviors...
"A third of the people were killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the sulfur that came out of their mouths. For the authority of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails, for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with these they inflict harm. But the rest of the people who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands; they did not stop worshipping the demons and the idols of gold and silver and copper and stone and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders nor of their spiritistic practices nor of their sexual immorality nor of their thefts."
The plagues of Revelation on Babylon the Great during the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation "kill" many people to their former false worship so that they come to serve God in truth. Jesus talked to the congregations in chapters 1-3 warning them to repent of unscriptural practices, "So repent. If you do not, I am coming to you quickly, and I will war against them with the long sword of my mouth."
The wild beasts of the earth are governments. It is by means of the governments that Babylon the Great will be eaten up.
The Bible shows that the four horsemen are just another way of describing the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation.
still, you hold onto false teachings of the wtbts which are only there for the enrichment of its chiefs.. as pointed out, the rest of the book of revelation is figurative, yet you hold that the number 144,000 is literal.
the wtbts currently says that this number is limited to those running the wtbts and that anyone claiming to be part of it outside that self-selecting group could be mentally ill.. by what reasoning (not from wtbts origin) do you believe only 144,000 people will be ‘saved’, and how do you know who is part of this self-selected group, given virtually no other religious denomination does even remotely believe in the literalism of revelation.
do they have to be jws?
Hi Duran🙂
Revelation 1:10
"By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a strong voice like that of a trumpet..."
Revelation 4:1
"After this I saw, and look! an opened door in heaven, and the first voice that I heard speaking with me was like a trumpet..."
Christ's voice from heaven as the executioner of God's judgment is likened to a trumpet. After he is enthroned, he rides vigorously to execute God's judgments, depicted as plagues/thunders/bowls/trumpets.
The trumpet at Revelation 8:7 talks about hail. So do these other places in Revelation...
Revelation 11:19
"And the temple sanctuary of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple sanctuary. And there were flashes of lightning and voices and thunders and an earthquake and a great hail."
Revelation 16:21
"Then great hailstones, each about the weight of a talent, fell from heaven on the people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, for the plague was unusually great."
The trumpet at Revelation 8:8 talks about the sea turning into blood. So does Revelation 16:3 when talking about the second bowl...
"The second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood like that of a dead man, and every living creature died, yes, the things in the sea..."
It's the same idea with all the trumpets. They match other visions in Revelation. The locusts/charging cavalry goes along with the second horseman and the attack on Babylon the Great. Revelation 9:14 and the trumpet about the four angels at the Euphrates matches the four angels at Revelation 7:1,2, and all the other visions with the four living creatures like at Revelation 15:7. It's all the same thing just told in slightly different ways, going through the different parts of the 3 1/2 years of the great tribulation.
Revelation 11:19 says "And the temple sanctuary of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple sanctuary. And there were flashes of lightning and voices and thunders and an earthquake and a great hail." Lightning, voice, thunders, earthquake, hail...it's the theme, the plagues, etc, repetition for emphasis.
Revelation 14:8 says Babylon has fallen, but then again in Revelation 16:19 it says "The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell; and Babylon the Great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath." It's the same thing from a different angle.
That the "seventh" trumpet is not really seventh from a linear point of view is shown in that the visions repeat again in chapters 12 and 13, recapping the 3 1/2 year timeline.
The trumpet Paul was talking about ("the last trumpet") was the one Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24:31...
"And he will send out his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity."
That is at the end of the 3 1/2 year great tribulation.

Could it happen here to other religious organizations?
This is an interesting read...
(selection from pages 1549 and 1550 of "Michigan Law Review")
"Nearly all states have statutory provisions for dissolution procedures, either voluntary or involuntary, for ecclesiastical corporations. The provisions display great variety, running the gamut from those that seem to be almost an afterthought to those that are highly sophisticated and patterned after similar sections in many business corporation acts. There are four principal procedures for dissolving an ecclesiastical corporation: (1) involuntary dissolution initiated by officers or members of the corporation, (2) involuntary dissolution initiated by the state attorney general or other public official, (3) voluntary dissolution upon vote of the membership of the corporation itself, and (4) dissolution by church officials upon extinction of the local corporate unit. Five states also allow dissolution when a creditor of a congregation has reduced a claim to judgment and the claim remains unsatisfied..."
"Involuntary dissolution initiated by the state attorney general or other public official is a widely used method. Generally, the grounds for allowing dissolution on this basis are fraud in the procuring of the corporate franchise, abuse of the use of the corporate privilege, failure to file an annual report with the secretary of state or other designated public official, termination of the period of duration specified in the articles of incorporation, and general abuse of state law or violation of the public interest. As an outgrowth of his powers to oversee charities - a carry-over from the common law - the attorney general of the state is usually given the power to institute dissolution proceedings. Some states give this power to the prosecuting attorneys of the county in which the property of the corporation is located or to the state official charged with overseeing corporations within the state."

And also here...
"The corporation law of many states provides that church corporations may be dissolved involuntarily by the attorney general upon the occurrence of one or more of several grounds, including failure to pay fees prescribed by law, failure to file an annual report, fraudulent solicitation of funds, and exceeding the authority conferred by state corporation law."

i googles about self-deception and found many articles about it.
it is a thing reseachers in psychology have studied.. here is a quote from an article that describes it.
and it is interesting because of so many ideas about how to understand the bible.
@FedUpJW...you missed part of the conversation. AugustHest posted some horrid pictures with a boy tied up getting sodomized. That part of the conversation has thankfully been deleted. For a person to claim they are something nice and then to share shocking scary pictures is being a sicko and a liar. Those words "liar" and "sicko" were not "name-calling", they were an accurate assessment.
I'm taking a break from the forum for awhile. Those pictures were triggering to me, and made me kind of sick. I hope you all have a nice day.
i have no idea how to "flag" a post but if i could i would flag the one @augusthest just made on the "what is self-deception?

You just showed what you are still into by sharing your perversion here. You are a liar and a sicko. You're not deceiving anyone. Good riddance.

AugustHest said: "But I am showing that at least I can provide answers and show I know what I am talking about."
@AugustHest, since you are so well-educated, perhaps you could tell me what is the proper translation of these verses:
"Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him."
and
"If anyone says, “I love God,” and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar."
or how about this one -
"God is Love."

AugustHest said: "I don't really care if this is your Bible or if you like it or favor it above all others. I am only asking a question. If you get mad, or have feelings of any kind that are negative towards me, that isn't a critical reply of data."
Um, the only person who appeared to get mad here was you. My response to your first post there was this:
EasyPrompt said: "(🤣)"
(I laugh at bad jokes.😁)
Here was some of your response:
AugustHest said: "you can’t defend why you have chosen to stick with the New World Translation with anything but bullying and teasing (and that’s not a defense--it just shows you’re an Internet bully, and it doesn’t take intelligence or critical thinking to be a bully), fine."
AugustHest said: "I can’t help it if sarcasm is your choice and stupidity your path."
AugustHest said: "You don’t mean anything to me."
AugustHest said: "I don’t care about any of those people I left behind."
AugustHest said: "I am glad they are all growing old and dying away...while the “brother” beside them molests their children in the shadows"
AugustHest said: "Anyone who shares their views and their Bible translation are pathetic, filthy worms."
🤣🤣🤣
Self-deception is the name of the thread! Good job!
Here is another bad joke that I think is really funny...

"What is love? And the answer will be: God is love! And what is God? Well, love!"
These verses from Revelation show that God is Love...
Revelation 21:3,4 "“Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes..."
Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alʹpha and the O·meʹga,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty..."
Revelation 7:17 "And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes"
God himself will come walk the earth and hang out with His kids here and eat with them and talk with them.
(It's funny, the WTBT$ just put out a monthly broadcast and they show a scene from the Bible passage about Abraham eating with and talking to Jehovah. They completely miss the bigger application! Here are some screenshots...)
Matthew 19:26 "Looking at them intently, Jesus said to them: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Jesus said he'd hang out with everybody here too. "Truly I will be with you in Paradise."
"What is love?...God is love!"
A loving Father spends time with His kids up close, not from a distance.
Ezekiel 48:35 "And the name of the city from that day on will be Jehovah Is There"
