happy witnesses?

i attended sunday meetings at least half a dozen times.

what i noticed is that the witnesses seem to be very happy people.

is that true or just a fassade?

did any one here watch a TLC program that comes on once in a while about wild police chases and there's this chase where a car crashes INTO A SET OF GAS PUMPS, and just sits there stunned and dazed in his white car while the officers yell at him to get out now, then one of the officers sacrifices his safety and uses his cruiser to bump off this freak from the burning gas pump island and out of the fire....then an officer comments on the blaring "classical music" he heard blaring from his car stereo at FULL BLAST all the while he seemed oblivious to this whole situation?

Guess what that "classical music" at full blast was? A Kingdom Melody! I can't remember exactly, but I think it was song 144 or such. It never dawned on me until I saw the show again a few months later. I couldn't believe it, until I got out the song book, hummed a few bars to the song, and it matched!

Would a Le Pen Presidency Favor WT in France ?

would a le pen victory for the french presidency result in a favorable turn arround situation for the wt in france ?

he does not even support france being part of the eu, and has spoken out in favor of stepping out it if becoming president.

nationalism is starting to grow back not only in france but other european nations as well, with partisans for a no to the eu.. would a france in the hands of a nationalist such as le pen would be more tolerant to the wt, reversing jacques chirac's actual version of "freedom of cult" in france.

Well, he has a snowball's chance in Hades against Chirac...that being said, the Witlesses would be kicked out on their rear-end, like they should be for lying and misrepresenting to the French, Belgians, etc., etc. officials.

I mean, really. Even IF the representatives from, say, Texas, Loisiana, and New Mexico had the best interest of Texans, Loisianans, and New Mexicans in mind when passing laws (instead of, say, their own personal agenda), what good does that do for Alaska?
The problem is that the country is too big for a small group of people sitting on the east coast to make laws that will fairly manage all of it. The agricultural states have VERY different concerns and needs than the industrial states, to show one very obvious conflict.

Well, this is certainly borne out if you look at the final electoral results map of the last election. 'Ag' states voted primarily Bush, urban/industrial states voted primarily Gore.

I WAS a hopeful supporter of Bush, but now he and his admin are starting to give me a headache re: energy and environment policies especially. Big Oil tail wags the dog.

There were those who flocked to Nader too: but he sold out as well.

Everybody has a price it seems.

Ahhhh....Thank goodness....I was beginning to think my posts were being abducted by the Grays or Lucifer! Anyways, I try to shoot straight from the hip as it were, and tell it as passionately and sincerely as I can....I can understand the frustration with some, though, who channel their negative energies with the WTS toward all who still deal with this organization. \

BELIEVE ME, I left here too back when many here were on H20, had a timeout to clear some issues, and have come back to share my experiences and thoughts here again. I much thought similar to you now!

Well, fred, mavman, friday as far as I'm concerned are probably ex-JWs too, or at least afflicted with the need to post contrarian opinions just to ruffle a few feathers. Nothing like the anonymity of a screen name and the Internet to implement this madness.

Was I bitter and self-absorbed, Violet, when I said:

An organization is as only as good as the MEN in it.
That being said, your baptism will signify that you understand that you will be associated with "Jehovah's Spirit-Directed Organization", and are expected to abide by such with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. When you say "Yes" to that, you've signed the dotted line, so to speak.
Interesting, you did mention becoming "stronger" and "wiser"; this is true, certainly in the context of any suffering and tribulation, etc. In taking your own spiritual journey, on this earth, never forget that.
Personally, my experience IN the JWs has made me stronger and (I hope) wiser as to my spiritual life-course. One aspect has been the struggle between loyalty to God, and loyalty to one's religion.
If you ever come to this Crisis of Conscience, I'm sure Ray Franz could help. In my mind, he is the epitome of one REALLY searching for truth, and struggles not to compromise, while not trashing what journey he already took as a Governing Body member for nine years.
Like you said, it made him too "stronger" and "wiser".

Did you even hear out what I had to say?
