they are, after all, run by "imperfect" men as well.
i guess that means they're actually inspired of god too, but simply run by imperfect men who make mistakes..

i know some mannerisms to avoid such as when someone sneezes, dubs don't say, "bless you" or "god bless you" for sacrilious reasons.. so the question is, what worldly mannerisms do dubs avoid?.

the no-beard-in-the-name-of-god rules irritate me to no end.
i think i posted on here that i went to the memorial last week.
my wife's dad has been a jw for over 50 years and has never missed a memorial before.
he has been getting sicker and sicker and his wife the star pioneer still does nothing for him.
Thanks for sharing your story. The memorial made me uncomfortable at the best of times for it's ritualistic bent. I can't imagine my father going through that in old age and ill health. More accurately, it's difficult to imagine how I would handle it. Good for you for taking it in stride. Pretty stressful/irritating.
demon attack. pffft. it's called anger. if they would bloody well respect natural human gawd-given emotions instead of insisting everyone LIE by surpressing them and putting a smile on their face all the time it might not GET to such "demon attack" proportions. fools.
