Perhaps we could post the pictures the wt have presented in their literature that depict their version of paradise here for comment/discussion:

when i was a kid....i used to look at the wt illustrations of paradise conditions and would day dream about life in the new system....i later used this same technique (shame on me) to brain wash bible students.
however...as i grew up lol (apparently!
) the illustrations changed....and became more modern.
Thanks for this pic!
Have we a thread were all the Watchtower depictions of paradise can be viewed and compared on this site?
I would love to see that!!
this morning i was in our front yard sitting down pulling weeds when i saw 3 people slowly walking on the sidewalk in my direction.
2 of them were young, handsome, clean shaven, wearing nice crisp white shirts and perfectly tailored black slacks.
they could have been mormons except.... there was a 60ish portly woman wearing a frumpy dress and ugly sandals.
I sometimes think it's hopeless to try and reason with them - I put the zoom on for my aged parents on Sunday.
A lifelong friend, Ted immediately started speaking to them.
I heard him say: 'The end of this system won't be long now guys - any day now..'
Ted was contacted by the JW;s in 1960 - 64 years ago - and he still thinks it's coming soon - waste of life - waste of time trying to reason with folks like that!!π€·ββοΈ
the last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.
the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.
i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.
I was sent this pic some years ago, with the heading: 'Two hours into the convention'...π€£

LHG:
What I also hated was the overly long closing prayer.. If people were smart they left before the song and prayer and beat the crowds out of there...

My brother and I used to time the prayers on our Casio watches. The longest one was around 13 minutes at a District/ International assembly in the 1970's.
People were passing out/fainting etc..
We knew we were in for a 'special' when the brother started with:
'Jehovah, why did you bring us here_Was is for the opening item on day one.' and then itemised the WHOLE ASSEMBLY!!!
All assemblies: Total pile of crap, but we tried to find ways to stay alert and stimulated with our headphones, radio comics etc etc!

My brother and I, aged about ten or so - 1970's football stadium - sitting on deckchairs under tarpaulin on the open football stands- rain, thunder and lightning - everyone had vacated except us - brother on stage pointed to our humble man made den and shouted at the audience -
DEVOTION! Look over there at those two people in the rain if you want to see DEVOTION!!
Everybody clapping - my brother said 'I think they're clapping US!!'
We broke off from reading our comics and eating snacks by torchlight to look outside the tarp - yes they were all clapping us!!
Then back to our comics and snacks - best assembly my brother and I ever enjoyed - can't remember a single thing from the program though!!
if you do a search on the wt website and type in "oral sex", you will get 69 results.

it is very inappropriate to discuss these types of behaviors in the presence of children..
Couldn't agree more!
I was about 10 when we studied the' Unseen Spirits' brochure below - gave me the creeps and nightmares.
Is it available as a pdf download anywhere?
i'm unclear on how this has been achieved or if permissions have been given.
presumably, audible (part of amazon) have their own procedures to ensure legality, but here it is nonetheless;.
listen to crisis of conscience - raymond franz by crisis of conscience - raymond franz on audible.

a 1st cousin(a) of mine just called me about one of my great aunts(b) getting reinstated.
(b) has been disfellowship for as long as i can remember.
(a) has always stood on the fence with his beliefs.
Pomi is very common...Decades can pass but the programming endures.

So true - and when they go back they instantly become sickeningly 'spiritual' and borg centric,
