  What is is your favorite REDICULOUS JW falsehood? :)

  i get a few good laughs from the ex-jw facebook site: " ex jw humor will set you free".. i was laughing over dinner with 3rd gen over this post tonight: "question for the audience: i was driving around today and it hit me...there are big falsehoods (armageddon etc.

  ) that we were told, but also ridiculous falsehoods.

  what is your favorite ridiculous falsehoods?

  As a pioneer in the 1980's I went weekly on the foreign shops that docked in a big seaport.

  The foreign crews on the ships always wanted a bible for themselves to read at sea.

  The best response was from the prostitutes on the ships.

  They took all the watchtowers and awakes we had.

  One lady said to me, 'Not that issue, I've read that. Have you got the very latest one please.'

  Never had that sort of interest or reaction to the literature from any householder on the doors ever.

  let me start by saying i was born and raised as a jehovah’s witness.

  i’m thankful that i was raised this way, because i feel it protected me in some ways, especially with regard to moral issues.

  40 Years Ago Today: May 15th 1984 "1914 Generation" issue was released. False prophecy, thy name is WatchTower.

  it's incredible how this cover, and also this "series" of watchtower's is burned into my mind.

  i was almost 5 years old when these were released.

  I was regular pioneering when that wt first came out. I remember it well.

  My mother was first contacted by ones who came into the jw religion in the 1940's & 50's.

  Yesterday she said 'I wish all the ones who first contacted me who are all long dead could be alive now, just to see how close to the end we are.'

  I was so stunned by this absolute load of utter crap and twaddle I just said 'Thank you for sharing your thoughts mum.'...

  it is proposed to the seimas not to grant state recognition to the religious community of jehovah's witnesses.

  lithuania05/05/2024 09:30. jehovah's witnesses; baptism associative / e. ovcharenko / bns photo.. it is proposed to the seimas to refuse to grant state recognition to the lithuanian jehovah's witnesses religious community.. community representatives told bns that they hope that parliamentarians, taking into account the practice of the european court of human rights, will make a different decision.. the draft resolution registered by the chairman of the human rights committee of the seimas, tomas vytautas raskevičius, states that this community does not meet the requirements of the constitution and the law, that its education and rites do not conflict with laws and decency.. "the ministry of justice has determined that the religious teaching of this community is possibly not compatible with the constitution of our country in two aspects.

  the first is that jehovah's witnesses oppose blood transfusions due to certain aspects related to health care (...).

  Should we expect a strange reversal/dumbing down from the watchtower on accepting blood, using the analogy that 'everybody else takes it, and 'it is excepted medically worldwide', like the reasoning they used on beards, slacks etc?

  What scripture could they misquote to backtrack on their blood policy I wonder?

  i am way late to the party on this message board but i saw that there were some folks from the new england area who had stories about familiar jws that i grew up with.

  my story, as brief as i can tell it, goes like this.. i was born in boston, ma in the early 70s to two my mom and dad who were in their early 20s and woefully unprepared for marriage and raising kids.

  dad becomes drunk and violent, mom is bipolar, desperate and high strung and looking anywhere for help.

  Oh my goodness, what a difficult time you have had in your life - I so sympathise.

  I thought I was having an extremely hard time with my own aged jw mother at the moment - but my difficulties pale into insignificance compared to yours.

  Memorial of Jesus' death

  i was listening to a youtube where a pastor relates his experience of attending a jw memorial.

  he said something that was profound to me.. "how do you have a memorial for someone alive?".

  they use this phrase all the time, even printing thousands and thousands of invitations to invite everyone to join them in doing this.. i googled that phrase to see what other christian church's use this phrase and was astounded to see that at least the first two pages of results are in relation to jw's only..
