  Yes, the watchtower is, and always has been, a micromanaging high control cult.

  Thank goodness there are many who are many who are able to use their brains, apply critical thinking and escape its clutches.

  ps. Here we have a 'newly reinstated' person starting threads on an apostate web site - anyone know what cong the poster is from so we can report them to their congregation elders for loving scriptural correction/wt brainwashing??

  I was DF D3c 2022. Reinstated this Jan 2024 ( 1 year df'd). When they reinstated me that said I am on restriction- no commenting at meetings, have to have a weekly study with a pioneer sister, no parts in the school. How long do these restrictions usually last ( been about 3 months since reinstated).

  Moving on in a new chapter

  moving on is the hardest thing anyone has to cope with.. i have officially left the org.

  and now it feels my family have been waiting to do this for a long time, officially shunning me, even though they were practically doing this whilst i was still in.. it feels like i've accomplished a victory and at the same time i feel guilty i was tangled up in communication with someone who "hid who they were" claiming to leak information from bethel.

  i got the call from the man who i thought i worked with.

  New ministry, you don’t give a witness

  there are assignments on the life and ministry school now where they are suggested to just talk to people without giving a witness.. they are supposed to practice starting conversations with strangers and listening to them to talk about whatever they want to talk about .

  there is an assignment this week where the conversation ends without giving a witness.

  jws don’t look like jws anymore and now they don’t actually preach.. you could get bearded men with sweaters or other such tops and women in pants or slacks coming upto you in the park or on the street and starting a conversation with you.. then you hear them listening to you and talking about whatever they think that you wanted to talk about .

  Fascinating Mikejw!

  Wonder, if like in the old days, we'll get interested ones progressing so far and then saying;

  " I know it's the truth, but I just couldn't face the ministry where I'd have to have a friendly chat with someone in the park without preaching - I'd be far too nervous!"

  That night he did his infamous 'saintly brandon' livestream - I remember watching that thinking, 'is he drunk? has he taken something?'

  I still can't believe he did that -

  although he didn't look like he had been drinking when he posted the other earlier one saying -'he needed a break for mental health reasons'...

  i believe an an elder told someone who's daughter (14 yo) became sexually active with a 26 year old in the neighborhood, that maybe they should get married.

  so, they did... with parental consent.

  he turned out to be a ex-convict who shot his first wife in the face with a shotgun.

  Who won?

  We walked to some wasteland behind the hall and he suddenly realised by the look on my face that I was really going to kick his head in.

  I was into bodybuilding/boxing/ martial arts - he suddenly bottled it and nervously thrust out his hand and apologised - I shook his hand and accepted his apology - I was disappointed..

  Another elder approached me privately few days later and said he had heard about the incident.

  He said he had served with him in the army and that he was the biggest, nastiest bully he had ever seen, and the day someone actually stood up to him and intimidated him had been long overdue -

  I never heard any more about it from the elders - I think he bullied them too..

  I heard an old fart fossil elder tell a man who was reaching out to become a servant to wait another twenty years until the hall grew in numbers and then had to split before he could be considered.

  He was an ex army bully. He offered me hand to hand combat on a quick build over something unknown to me that had upset him...I accepted.
