Sixteen years later and wow is life different
by BlackSwan of Memphis ini have no idea if this is the right place to post this.
if you're just leaving the witnesses or questioning and toying with the idea of leaving..... life goes by fast.
and either you rip the band aid off and deal with it or let it fester and eat you alive.

I'm in my early 50s, faded quietly over the approximate time period of 1997-to-2012, at which point I was far enough away that "leaving" was painless, as I was already long gone. I don't know if I would have had the fortitude to just rip the bandage off, but I was always a planner.

The concept seems odd to me. I think it always did. I am allowed to kill some lesser creature and spill its blood upon the ground, and God will forgive me my transgressions. We bypass this today because God offered to sacrifice a human body, one that he (or His son) temporarily inhabited before returning to Heaven. To a being older than time itself, this interlude was so short, it is difficult to imagine that He even noticed it.
What I wonder about it is... could Jesus have failed? Was there a possibility that he would sin, and thus condemn humanity to an eternity of sin, suffering, and death? What would happen to Jesus/God if this had happened? What would have happened to Satan? If Jesus's triumph was inevitable and Satan's defeat guaranteed, why was the sacrifice even necessary? Who did Jehovah feel He needed to impress?

Didn't Evans make an attempt at having translators work for free translating his first book?
Well, he certainly got his money's worth. Others have explained that he made life difficult for the translators, which is peak Lloyd Evans: find the cheapest way to do something, then make an effort to reduce the quality even more. Hmm, I'm not feeling too confident about the odds of his legal issues working out for him...

We have received reports that personal slideshows and videos presented before or after some wedding talks have not been dignified and, in a few cases, were outlandish.
LOL, someone hosted a stag party.
Oh, wait, this is a JW publication. Someone probably said something rude, like "golly!"

It's not as if belonging to a religion that had strict moral rules regarding sex made any difference to Evans in the first place.

WingCommander: OMG, Hemorrhoid Evans is going to write at least 2 MORE long-winded, gas-bag books about HIMSELF?
Apparently he is going to revise the first one? He could get away with it, because no one wants to read either book, much less compare them to see what he changed. And if he's going to revise the first one, why bother writing the second one? Oh, wait-- he's not going to try to crowdfund a second autobiography, is he? lol
Maybe he can title it The Unrepentant Reprobate.

smiddy3: Don`t all politicians do that ?
Yes, it's a standard of behavior here as well. It shouldn't even matter, but in the USA we give way too much blame/credit to the President, who really is supposed to be something of a figurehead, a representative of the nation as a whole when dealing with foreign powers. Our government was designed to put most of the power into congress, but we place too much of our attention on the President.
The media will talk about the President's budget and budget proposals all the time, but it's congress that produces the actual budget and votes to pass it (with the President able to veto it, under some conditions- but even then, congress will be tasked with revising the budget and voting again). Congress writes laws and votes to pass them, then the President signs them to make them official (same thing here regarding the veto). And so on.
This is where the use of executive orders has become a growing problem for decades now. Giving the President a way to circumvent congress was meant for only very rare circumstances, but presidents regularly use them now and it has given them way too much power. It's a step in a very dangerous direction for what is supposed to be a representative government, when those representatives are so easy to bypass.

Jehalapeno: Just because you prefer shorter videos does not mean there's not an audience interested in longer videos.
I didn't mean to imply that no one watches long videos on YouTube. But it's very difficult on an audience if your upload schedule is frequent and your videos are long. Some of the channels I enjoy will post 40-90 minute videos, but do so on a relatively long schedule.
I am sure there is an audience that can watch content for hours each day from one or two creators, but that would make them the exception that proves the rule, in my mind.
