American Dominance.
by Englishman inisn't it strange that the worlds only super power - america - doesn't actually govern over an empire?.
i mean, think about it, how many countries has america subdued by force and then proceeded to permanently occupy?.
according to my limited knowledge of history, it must be the only world power ever to be able to dominate the planet without actually occupying another country.. englishman.

Although the US may be the worlds richest country and has most powerful army, it does not and could not really dominate the world.No country ever has had this ability.
If the rest of the world wanted to gang up together theres not much that she could do except use nuclear force which other countries would have to use also, and bang there goes the world.

Can the US police the whole world?
by JH ineven if the united states is the only superpower, can it really make war with iraq, and tackle north korea, and keep an eye on china, and other countries at the same time?
why does the us always have to take care of troubled spots all over the world by itself?
why can't japan and south korea take care of the north korean crisis?

is flawed because it is not true and also assumes that the US's involvement in other countries so called problems is to the worlds benifit and that of the local inhabitants .

some of us were born into it, and others have perhaps come from other religions, while still others may never had any religious faith at all.
some here on the board now claim that there is no god at all.

I realised my baisis for belief in a God was not founded on proper consideration of known facts and evidence.I've learnt to be more anilitical in the way I think than when I was a witness and try to examine things to the best of my ability.

Are you still looking for a meaning to life?

i havent bothered thinking much about the deeper issues of life recently but why not start again i thought to my self, and i ask the questions what are we and how did we get here?and i ask these in the biggest sense ie, not how did we get here on earth but how and why did the whole show sart in the first place.. its easy to say the universe just happened , we just evolved and our conscious existance is just a freak of nature.but these answers sweep over the main issues which are far deeper.. i learnt to reject ghosts, gods, angels and supernatural phenomena , but my own existance is more perversely strange to a logical mind than any of these, and yet i do exist.. what the hell is it all about i wonder?

Personnally I can't see why the bible should contain the answers to these questions.All we can know about the bible is that it was written at some point (points) in time , there is no statement found in the bible as to where the universe comes from ,where God comes from and what consciouness is.

Did you throw your meeting clothes out?
by sleepy injust been clearing some space in my house and deciding what to get rid of.i have a whole rack of "meeting clothes" shirts , suits ties etc that i have never worn since i left.i kept a few shirts and a couple of suits just in case i need them sometime.what a load of money those clothes most have cost me.one extra good reason for leaving, and think of all those dry cleaning bills you'll miss as well.bad luck if you work in an office.
