  Is the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses REALLY the "faithful and discreet slave" of Matt. 24:45-47?

  thesis: when someone who is given a responsibility mistakes that responsibility for authority, bullying is very likely to occur.. jesus spoke an illustration recorded at matthew 24: 45-51 which well illustrates this thesis.. jesus asked, “who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over all his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?

  happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so.

  truly i say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.

  The Watchtowers "Slave" was appointed in 1919, but was, until recently "all the anointed as a class" (a lot of dis-appointed at that time of change). So,

  the first century "governing body" was not part of the F&DS. but

  Wt should follow that pattern, to re-create the divinely approved setup, therefore

  recognize that outside contributors (like Paul) have more insight, inspiration, than wt writers themselves. Even,

  if like the Apostle Peter, they find "apostate writings" hard to understand, because of blinkers.

  First century divine pattern: majority of relevant doctrine was written outside "Headquarters". Probably

  still is, because a lot of "new Light" came because of the untenable positions were pointed out to them.

  Dr. Bart Ehrman

  dr. bart ehrman is a bible scholar who wrote such books as misquoting jesus: the story behind who changed the bible and why and how jesus became god: the exaltation of a jewish preacher from galilee.. i found this interview with dr. ehrman fascinating.

  The OP was not about laws to tame human behaviour, but the way our plane planet has been in stable orbit for 4.5 billion years to have life exist on Earth, and try to find explanations. and

  Here too is a balance of pull and push in action, lifting out of gravity wells by energy, versus the counteracting concentrating forces of gravity.

  May be Prof. Lawrence Krauss took the title of his book: " A universe [created] from Nothing" from the verse: "the Earth hanging on Nothing"

  Phizzy, sorry, I was referring to the text in the Opening Post, Job 26:7, "--hanging the Earth--", I see nothing circular in the expression "Earth", instead, the four corners are the main bible theme on that, right to Revelation after the 1000 year reign.

  As I said, in the daytime, the Earth actually hangs from the Sun above, by the warping of spacetime.

  The bible can be wrong, even when it seems to be right.

  The verse says nothing about a ball, for all we know, the writer could have had in mind a garden of eden swing.

  One , or a handful of verses in 30 000 to be correct is not a bad score to be uniquely insightful.

  They certainly did not understand that the earth would actually fall up to the sun when they saw it in daytime.

  Think of the swing to have go at 30 km a second average not to rise up. ( ~ 48 000 cubits per watch ) ha ha.

  The Writer did not understand the difference between the gravity of the sun and the pull centered on the earth.

  Fun fact: at times the planets actually orbit around nothing, when the planets pull the baricenter outside the suns surface.

  the common thread of beleivers / creationists of a god creating life is design .. and if something / anything is designed it must have a designer ?.

  however this reasoning is discarded when talking about the existence of god.. and if such a being as god somehow existed without a designer why not all forms of life itself as existing on earth ?.

  Disillusioned JW,

  There is now detected the existence of "dark energy" appearing in the expanding universe, so,

  the time/energy/ future we expand into, must have more resident energy, that was not funnelled into the Big Beginning point of time. or to use Dirac'a language, not all the Dirac "sea" emptied through the Dirac "hole"

  terrible to think that the future has no energy. They are both eternal after all.

  the net energy of the entire universe is ZERO (when considering gravitational potential energy as negative energy) and that thus the entire universe could have come from NOTHING.

  DJW:

  If you have positive Energy and negative Energy on the balance, evening out, Can you see the 2 energies instead of zero? That means most of the energy of the cosmos is still out there, in time, waiting for us to move into. ( we are obviously moving through time into the future)

  Where does it say that all energy that existed for an eternity is locked up in our local universe?

  The same equation applies for matter and anti matter. 2 in potential balance = 2. period, not one. so,

  “i solemnly charge you before god and christ jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead,”- 2 tim 4:1. seems like sins are not paid by dying or the ransom if there is a judgment in-spite of it.

  Executing someone who commits murder does nothing

  tbn. not so, worst case scenario, an innocent person might die, because of failure, or deliberate action of those working in the lucrative Criminal Industrial Complex.( not mean to be demeaning of the sincere and hard working workers there)

  we dont know how many people had second thoughts before acting when they thought about their own neck, last breath. As I said they are asking for it, as do the elders that deliver biased judgements.

  delivering a quarter hour of nitrogen is cheaper, less painful too, than keeping criminals warehoused for years and years. targeted population control.

  And the mind boggles to think what would happen if the Earth stood still

  s3, in Joshua's case, stop rotating and starting to spin again within hours.

  "earthquakes in one place and another" ha ha.

  In Job's case, stopped revolving, stopped being hung on energy aka "no thing", a straight dive into the sun, be gone in 65 days. average falling speed: ~100 000 km/h ( quoted from Wiki)

  Not to mention punishing some does not help the person who has been victimized.

  tbn. yes it helps the mental well being of the victims, aka closure,-- particular for the survivors of the acts of disgusting criminals, like the rapist murderer of their young daughter, or to have the life savings of a senior taken by a cyber criminal.

  It is one thing to wait for judgement day. better and surer to see justice applied right now.

  The Law might be an ass , in some cases. so: take the Golden Rule, Math:7:12.

  applied to a murderous criminal. He/she by killing, invites, agrees to the same treatment upon themselves. "let it be done to me as I do unto others". better yet,

  remove all criminals from civilized society and let them go at themselves, offer bounties.

  justice for all, to each its own.
