i found a company and employed an elder as an underwriter and two ms as sales and marketing.

anyway, this elder will delegate his work to the ms in sales and marketing, so he can go home early.

he knew when he got started that this would be a 10 hour a day job with some saturday.

beware, be wary particularly of renting to ms' or elders' brood.

they want to get out from papa's supervision, do harm to all, but not to the pa's reputation. having him lose "privilege to serve" and think they are immune,-- what with laws favouring the majority renters, and reluctance from the elder body to have their good name besmirched by exposing wayward offspring,

families showing their true colours. happened to me more than twice.

Jesus said forgive them 7x70 times. yeah, what he meant: dont be stupid, stop it at the outset, or you will regret it for a long time. repeat rent offenders repent rarely. .

im not a doctor, but based on their age and various stages of obesity, im thinking 10- 15 years- give or take, sounds about right.. with that in mind, the great tribulation could be announced any day.. the new understanding has now freed the org from the burden of having to identify a particular generation in relation to the date of armageddon.

blondi, think about it. The 144 000 sealed anointed which wt counts because of their partaking, have to be battle ready at Armageddon, been conscripted for combat not later than the outset of the Great Tribulation,

at the same time they can not be wt's last generation, because "jesus" clearly said, that that generation would die after all the end prophecy details have been fulfilled, have come to pass. so,

wt is totally wrong in calling the last generation the anointed. All people, good, medium and bad, anointed or just abstainers are coexisting anyway, but wt went out on the limb, in their inward looking way, to contradict their reigning king himself.

I wondered when the WTS said that anointed would be alive on earth after Armageddon, how could they blondie

exactly, I believe JJ was mistaken about that. that idea was not a wt doctrine for the last 70 years. curiously

jesus said though, that the tribulation would be cut short, so some flesh of the chosen ones might be saved. he clearly did only speak of the first fulfillment for the anointed, not a latter day anointed generation.

But the Bible does say that there is an elite group that goes to heaven whoever they are and that not everyone goes to heaven. Whether or not the Bible is true and whether or not the JW so called anointed class is real, the Bible says that the Apostles and others go to heaven. Fm

right. One restraint on membership in the 'rulers in heaven' is to be axed or guillotines to death for the upright Christian faith. Rev. 20.

The wt memorial ceremony has nothing to do with that. As Simon said, more believers were martyred before 1914, when the wt partaker count started. and,

In the 50s, wt did teach that the Great Tribulation had started in 1914, (WW1, Spanish Flu) and all that.

it was interrupted in 1918, (millions will never die) to allow the great crowd to come out of that era, and will resume at Armageddon whenever that would be: now, 2075 or past the 118+1914 mark. old light.

Simon, right. One could be burned at the stake but squeezed out of that limited number of partaker slots available, and besides, you could be a bible writer, like James, and Paul, but not be part of the feeding Faithful and Discreet Slave,

There seems to be no limit to the arrogance and self aggrandizement, disdain for others among the wt elite.

Jesus, in his end time prophecy [about jerusalem] did not set those terms at all. He said instead, his generation, including the soon to be anointed listeners, , would

NOT PASS AWAY

until all the the prophecy is to be fulfilled. so:

sorry anointed, you can flee to the mountains, hide, but your prophecy is wrong, the generation will survive. not pass away at the outset of the Great Tribulation. it is a great travesty, false prophecy instead. .

1914- responsible for the biggest decrease in JW's?

theres a couple of threads re: 1914 on the board right now and it got me thinking.. the jw doctrine of the 1914 generation is a key doctrine , yet it is probably the number one reason most have left over the decades.. 1975- within one generation.. 1995 - new understanding of the word generation.. 2010- overlapping generation first mentioned- some anointed survive armageddon.. 2015- infamous overlapping generations chart featuring david splane.. its obvious the org is changing the goalposts and constantly trying to squeeze as much time as they can before they have to abandon this altogether.

or will they come up with something new?.

does anyone else think this ever changing doctrine is responsible for the biggest loss of members?.

Matthew 24:34 give us confidence that at least some of “this generation will by no means pass away” before seeing the start of the great tribulation.” Watchtower 2014 Jan 15 p.31

jj: here you can see the twisting by wt writers of the original text.

Jesus said that all these things will come to pass, then the generation would die (like it did in the first century). "all these things" obviously includes the disaster bigger than Noah's flood. aka Armageddon. that Jesus mentioned as fact in the prophecy.

The start of the GT is only a blip in all that.

wt says : generation dies at the beginning

"Jesus" says: generation will die off long after it is all over. (Jesus spoke to an anointed survivor 30 years later)

Even outright contradictions will not really sink in, here, or in wt land.

no shrinking of membership over absolute doctrinal error, sad but true, truth does not matter.

The only support for that wt doctrine I can remember, was an illustration of a well muscled wanderer with knotty walking stick striding by gardens of the New World settlements. Current wt doctrine has the anointed dying at the onset of the Great Tribulation.

At the meeting the article was studied, I instantaneously knew in my mind that my time in the Witness religion was over

LHG, I remember the instant feeling too, but not which study. By the time David S delivered his PHD, it had become a joke to me. .

JW membership numbers have not declined, but progress, increase has. Nobody is coming "into the truth" excited about the doctrines.
