never a jw, you need to look at what is happening on campuses all over the world. they are infested with SJW ideology (Marxism) which force lecturers to tip-toe around a bunch of crybabies who flies into a fit if they get a low grade.
Just the other day I read how a bunch of students disrupted a university class bc they felt it was racist to have lectures during the Puerto Rico disaster.
Seems reasonable to you?

i have been surprised recently to see so much support by ex-jws for the watchtower's refusal to fight and kill.

in my opinion it is a vice masquerading as a virtue.

of course war should always be a last resort but there are occasions that it has to be done.

hear, hear! The "War is peace" line is one of the things I don't like about Orwell. Sometimes waging war is the only way to ensure peace. For instance, we are now largely at war with the Muslim world, with thousands of Islamists spilling into Europe to cause havoc. War is the only way to ensure peace!

DNA is like 70 years ago... evolution 150... just seems to me that there are few new theories these days and more shiny tech... not really new ideas.

great example! planes look pretty much the same today as they did 50 years ago, only you have no room.
or take space X. people are flipping out because someone built a rocket which is crappier than the Appollo rocket which is 50 years old.
Or someone else found a way to put a bunch of laptop batteries in a normal car. quick! give him 100M of taxpayer money!

fact: greatest scientific discovery of last year was gravitational waves. they have been known for 100 years.
science is not progressing like it used to. tell me what the latest theory was that is actually true?

Life expectancy has stagnated after improving greatly in the first half of the 20th century. Sorry seems like you need to look at the cartoon that was posted on page one: data wins.
not saying tech (DNA editing) hasn't improved, but DNA (science) was discovered like 50 years ago...
