Something else I find odd once I understand who bible scholars though jesus was in the old testament, the proof texts jws use to try and disprove jesus being god really mean nothing. I think the most quoted being " there is one true God the Father and one he sent forth jesus christ".

Thats exactly the conclusion I came too. Jesus is basically just God's avatar in the old testament and having the attributes of limitations of a human in the new testament.
Thats about as simple as I can put it.

Anyone else hear of this?

interested ones in the congregation were asked to start saving now, as the cost of the flights would be their own responsibility.
the time frame for this preaching work is for a couple of weeks in may/june 2017. the applications are to be turned in this sunday.

The interest in Israel is based of there new understanding of mog and magog.
The bigger problem is the end times chronology they have preached for decades isn't even coming close to coming true.

I sure think it's real greasy to go to another country that's sole survival depends on its military and having an armed civilian population and preach their nonsense. Many a time in the nation of Israel a terrorist on a rampage has been stopped by an armed civilian. Israelis live the life American right wing gun nuts wish they had.
How would you feel if you converted someone and later went back to Canada or the UK and later they were butchered in a terrorist attack with no means or skills to protect themselves.

Arguing with Witnesses vs Trinitarians
by schnell ini have always been told as a jw that trinitarians, particularly baptists, are just the worst people to argue with out in service.
i have always been told it was the world with a veil over their eyes.
the hypocritical irony is that so many witnesses are completely stubborn and willing to believe in magic before they believe anything against their dogma.

I find now that I have a better understanding of what new testament writers are referencing in the old testament,the arguments against the diety of Christ are just ridiculous chicken and egg arguments all being quite circular in nature.
Why would jesus say that ?
Cause he was a human.
If he was human, how could he be god?

For decades evangelicals have taught the ends days would come with some kind of Muslim Russian alliance would be forming to attack Israel. God protection depends on them turning to Christ.
With the recent events in the middle east and the Russians in Syria it has been a wonderful recruiting tool for the evangelical church. There is all kinds of mission work in Israel right now.
Not too be outdone the Wts has get over to convert them all so when Muslims Attack, it is an attack gods real christians , not the dirty jews.
When you invent a theology that basically replaces the jews with membership in the Wts. Well it's easier to try and convert an entire country than have the governing body admit they might have fucked up.
I think the average Israeli thinks the whole thing is an incredible nuisance.
I have had two ubers in our congregation go over. Literally two of the stupidest people you could ever meet.

I am not really sure if the bible teaches a trinity but it diffinetly teaches an obscure bi unity or plurality of yaweh in the old and new testament. It is something that requires some serious study of reconciling the old and new testament.
I am not really sure why jws think they have such a home run on this subject. They hardly even scratch of the belief.

The one oclock meeting
by Steel ini go to a hall (very rarely) with a single cong of about 60 people in a small city of maybe 10000. our board of elders is a bunch of childless weirdos or at least the ones that make an effort.. they recently changed the sunday meeting time from 10/12 to 1/ 3. a number of us are pissed off.
its makes to hard to drive to the city or go to a football game.. i just know the gestopo elders behind the change.
if your life isnt as miserable or pointless as theirs, they arent doing their job.
