The moral problem of Ephesians 5:23
by opusdei1972 infor the husband is the head of the wife as christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the savior.
(ephesians 5:23).
if jesus is the head of the church, jesus is responsible for the many contradictions contained in the new testament.

Lately I have been thinking about what exactly is the worst that could happen if I just said to my wife that I don't believe it anymore. She knows I have doubts but I think the reason she does not press me that hard about it is that she is scared that I don't want it any more. What really is the worst that can happen by opening up about the extent of my feelings?
I have no fear about my marriage so once the initial upset is over then perhaps things would just be pragmatic as I know she would not want me to escalate things so I was DF'ed or DA'ed myself.
It would certainly make managing the increasing questions from the kids easier to handle plus no more making excuses about the ministry etc.

I have to say though that I am finding it increasingly hard. Something has to give.
Today we had a talk about "Jehovah's Day" where the speaker emphasised how destructive Jehovah's Day will be. He used the scripture about the Last Days being like "pangs of distress", equating them to birth pangs, something that cannot be ignored and will always result in a conclusion. He then talked about it being as a thief.
I was sitting there steaming - which is it? Are the last days so eventful that they cannot be ignored or is discernment of events so limited that you have to keep watch as if waiting for someone to come in the dead of night and burgle your home?
Then we had the WT about training. The term "young ones" as used over and over again, except of course the article is only talking about young ones with a penis. Not one word about how females can "progress", because of course they can't go that far unless it's on the coat tails of their husband.
Of course, the disengagement of males in the congregation is down to them having secular goals. Perhaps so but no word about perhaps how the theology simply does not make sense anymore. Has my dis-engagement after 20 years as an MS come from not making the truth my own or the fact I woke up to the whole thing being a crock of shite?
After meetings like today's, I really feel fit to burst with anger and frustration.

All Christians Should Accept EVOLUTION
by FusionTheism init is time for christians to accept evolution, in my opinion.. there are many reasons why i think it is long overdue for all christians to finally accept what science says about evolution.
below i will show these reasons.. .
the bible tells people to pay attention to nature to see the glory of god (psalm 19; romans 1:19-20).

The Bible is 100% consistent with all "proven" science and "proven" archaeology. According to the WTS.
Where it differs with anything published then the Bible is correct and the experts wrong.
It's easy to harmonise the Bible and science when you are JW.

Missed the Meeting
by konceptual99 inso yesterday was a lovely day where i live and so instead of going to the meeting we went, as a family, out for the late pm/early evening to have a bbq.
we were far more relaxed than if we had gone to the meeting.
we spent far more time talking that if we had gone to the meeting.

All I was doing was asking a question, not criticising.
NP Doltologist. I was not taking offence - just responding to your question.
In answer to your second question, the difference is that the latter has a much larger risk of (for me) breaking lots of social/family connections as well as attracting unwanted attention from the elders. The outcome for those more peripheral relationships is the same but a fade allows opportunity to work on family members and reduce the risk of being labelled an apostate.
And to anyone who doesnt "agree" with YOUR way of exiting, give em a big fat sloppy "f*ck you!" It's your business how you handle it. If they wanna judge, the Kingdom Hall is open Thursday night at 7:30--they'll find like-minded asshole dipshits like themselves.
I don't think it's as combative as that. All I know is that there are people here who think that a long fade does not really change that much as far as the end result is concerned and it's essentially fear of the unknown that is preventing someone like from simply standing up and saying what we know to be true. I have no problem with this, I just don't think you can be prescriptive either way. People's circumstances all differ. I don't think most people are judging and I actually am glad to be in a forum where there is freedom to express another opinion without it meaning that we cannot be friends.

And that begs the question, so why are you wasting your life going to meetings of the evil cult?
Indeed however since you are new here you probably don't know that I am on a long fade and working to get my family out with wrecking every family relationship that we have. You cannot force people to see the reality about the WTS so this is the path I am taking.
Not everyone here agrees with my method but it's the way I am going and evenings like yesterday are small victories along the way.

We were far more relaxed than if we had gone to the meeting. We spent far more time talking that if we had gone to the meeting. We spent far more quality time together than if we had gone to the meeting.
The interesting thing is that no one moaned about not going to the meeting, in fact one of the kids wanted to know when we had passed a certain time as that would mean it would be too late to even consider going.

Why Jehovah Does Not Want An Effective Preaching Work
by konceptual99 inso we all know how ineffectual the preaching work really is.
we also know how much the wts hypes up the scope and scale of the global preaching effort.
what the gb should be doing however is emphasising the ineffectiveness of the preaching work.

Clearly, we should not expect world conditions to become so bad before “the great tribulation” that people would be forced to believe that the end is near.
Wow! this is a 360-degree change of mind from":
"… U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson said in 1960: "I know enough of what is going on to assure you that, in 15 years from today [or, by 1975], this world is going to be too dangerous to live in."-Awake! 1968 Oct 8Yes Pixel, it's a remarkable change of stance made even more bizarre by the fact the current doctrine is that people will only realise their fate and become "faint out of fear" once the GT has started and Jehovah is about to execute his purge of humanity.
I have had numerous conversations with friends and relatives about the preaching work, who will survive, who will be destroyed etc. In a couple of cases I have gone so far as to say it's a waste of time. The problem is that the mental blindness simply prevents those still in to see the ridiculous nature of the whole situation.
Even if you ignore everything the WT actually says about the need to essentially be a Witness (in fact it's now pretty much accepting not just Jesus but the GB) to have some assurance of getting through and go down the "we don't know, God is final judge, he will show love and justice...blah...blah....blah" route you simply then are faced with the situation that it is better for people not to get called on.
The whole thing is completely illogical and I am ashamed I bought into it for so long.

I stepped down before I was pushed. If they want to delete you then they should come and see you in which case you can end up being given a pass for a while even if you play the stress card. Even if there are elders baying for your blood they have to be a bit careful as the COs are trying to keep appointed men and the whole situation could become a farce where you get to stay on almost regardless of what you do (or more to the point don't do).
They cannot stop you resigning.

It's not just the inability to really push the message, it's the dichotomy between the scale of the event due on the earth and the desire of God through his chosen organisation to warn people and save them.
Here you have a composite sign that has been hyped as the most extreme situation ever in the history of humanity yet somehow most people will continuing as normal. It will not become so severe people really will question what is going on and look for a way out.
Then there is the matter of faith. It's the most narcissistic aspect of the whole thing. The urgency of the preaching work has been likened to seeing a burning building and doing everything possible to drag people out. Imagine going to this burning building and saying to someone stuck in there that you need them to acknowledge you as their saviour, sign a testimonial about how grateful they are or confirm they are not gay or disagree with any of your beliefs before you condescend to carry them out.
Not Jehovah though. It's not possible to flood the world with advertising about the coming apocalypse. It's not enough to read the heart and discern the true person behind whatever façade they have put up. Not a bit of it. No, firstly you have to be fortunate enough to think the world is going to pot and then somehow discern that the mobile trash can sitting at the end of your shopping precinct represents your only path to salvation. Not only that, you then have to be deemed worthy. Not by the depth of your humanity but how much you conform to a set of rules from a small group of men in New York, by how much you are prepared to submit yourself to the rules that a so called loving God insists on.
Narrow is the way leading to life. Broad and spacious is the path leading to destruction. This says everything about how much God really wants people to be saved. It says everything as to why Jehovah does not really care that the sign is ineffectual and his chosen people even more so.
How I believed in all of this for so long makes me feel like such an idiot.
