as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.

3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

As a kid I enjoyed "free time" at the DC and congregation picnics (until the evil CO put an end to them). As an adult, I enjoyed...jeez, can't even remember what it's called, oh yeah, "treat night" after the book study. Believe it or not, sometimes I even enjoyed the "spring cleaning" at the hall. Was kinda fun.

France's WW-II Ceremony Acompanied by Protests vs. USA

i did a quick google search and couldn't find a creadible source for the cardboard tank view (i heard it on a germany history program a couple of years ago). imo it does make some sense since germany used many cardboard tanks in their maneuvers which could be eliminated by cavalry. the google search revealed however that the whole incident (with or without cardboard) seems to be more of a myth generated by the german propaganda in 1939 than anything else. apparently cavalry tried to attack german infantry and got surprised by german tanks.

To be honest, I don't know if the Polish calvary charge on horseback against German tanks is an "urban legend" or not. I do know though that the Polish people faught bravely against the Germans and Soviets. One has to wonder what the outcome may have been for Polnad if they didn't have to fight on two froughts and had time to modernize their army. It's also important to note the vital role the Poles played in fighting German even after their country surrendered and the heavy price it paid.

JW's are pro-Israel?

i believe jw's are pro-israel, and therefore anti-arab, based on my recollections as follows: .

(1) i remember hearing brothers comment on the professionalism of the israeli army, and how in awe of the israeli army they were.

(2) after a plane crash when it was announced that the flight consisted of muslim pilgrims on their to mecca, i heard an elder say "good!

I believe that the WT, like many "Protestant" religions in the US, has conservative leanings. So like most on the right, they are more likely to be pro-Israel on issues.
