  I'm SURE every time the CO/DO comes around, they hit up the people hard to get more time in.

  Oh yeah, it was always a pain in the buck trying to get everyone to get their "missing hours" turned in before the CO came around. Basically what would happen is a list was made of publishers who were missing time for certain months. Then these names were given to the bookstudy conductor of each individual and this elder did everything possible to get this time.

  Now picture this. Here's Brother John Doe who's missing time for January, March and May. An elder would see him at the Hall and "remind" him to get this missing time in. What would Brother Doe normally do? He'd simply guess. What actually was true was that he didn't really get any time for those months but it was so much easier to write something down just to get Elder Jackass off of his case.

  I think that after the events of 9/11, quit a few came back for a while, so the statistics could reflect that.

  This made a huge difference. Even locally I noticed it. Right after this attack the parking lot at the local Hall was jammed pack for several weeks. Heck, on some Sundays they didn't have enough parking! Now things are back to normal. Parking lot half empty during the meetings on Thursday and only 3/4 full for Sunday's meeting.

  And I agree with Reborn. The Society KNOWS that any report of major losses would accelerate the spiraling figures. If they'd lie about issues that have actually killed people, what's the big deal for them to fudge some numbers on a report.

  Roy - Cause accents sound so sexy!

  Perhaps MrMoe. But why aren't American accents considered sexy? Everytime I've gone to Holland and tried to speak Dutch I would always receive an "Aw, isn't he so cute! Look at the American trying to speak our language." lol.

  All I have to say about this is one thing. I deal with a client who is English but has been transplanted to here in the States. Whenever he comes to my office for a meeting the women go crazy over his accent. Gimme break! I'm surprised he doesn't ask for a martini, shaken not stirred. lol

  Why do American women go nuts over English/Irish or Scottish accents?

  Duh. Food in storage goes to prison personel, food in storage does NOT go to prisoners.

  Duh. Where are the German soldiers that look even a little bit underfed? Hmmm...here is a camp full of walking skeletons and here are a group of well fed soldiers. While I wouldn't expect the average prisoner to be a specimen of good living, it's obvious that even well before the end of the war, the Nazis were starving the people who lived in these camps.

  I'll agree with your one comment about "not knowing if it was a Jew." It could have easily been a person of Slavic decent. And you're point is?????

  About the records. Obviously the Germans would keep records on how many they killed. Evidence? For what? They didn't believe they were going to loose the war.

  And one other thing. What do you believe is the story behind the one picture of a pile full of bodies and a German soldier shooting a woman who is not quite dead? I'm sure you have some rational reason for this one.

  Forever Bashing JW's??

  ok.....here's one for you.....maybe this follows on from previous posts about not forever being "ex-jws" as after all, you say you have to move on, and many here claim that they have.....however reading most posts here it becomes obvious that that doesn't seem to be the case.

  many seem to be trapped in a "go get 'em" crusade against the jws that seems to go round and round ...... and others just go round.. why?

  how long before resolution occurs?

  See? You are here conversing with us. You are a JW, right? How many "real" JW forums on the net will let XJWs voice their opinion? None. Some rules I have read go something like this; "don't question the F&DS. It will not be tolerated". You don't see those kind of rules here, do you?

  Excellent point TR.

  I'll agree that people here bash JW beliefs but they/we will also bash other beliefs. Just look at the recent heated discussion on the Holocaust. Jim took a lot of heat for his dumbass position. (Sorry Jim, just how I feel) But at least he was free to express his opinion. A few people here like the "power" of hiding behind a computer screen and making nasty comments. Personally, I try and reply in a way that is no different then if the person were standing right in front of me.

  People seem to forget that this is just a web site. That's it. Who cares if so and so calls you a nasty name. Sheesh. If you feel that someone is constantly bashing you, just ignore them. I truly believe that if a JW comes to this forum and wants to discuss or debate certain WatchTower beliefs, he'll receive both sincere replies and some bashing. The question is, which one will they respond to? Many times JWs will add fuel to the fire by making their own degrading comments. I've seen it both ways.

  Stick around for a while and you just might enjoy being here. It's much more then a "JW bashing session."

  i don't picket, but have been known to slip silent lambs brochures in watchtowers @ the laundromat, & also go stand next to them in the streetwork & hand out silentlams brochures.

  they don't seem to like this, & they always turn around & leave, to which i usually yell, hey guys, where you goin?

  They also could be pictures of those who starved to death because the allies bombed all the supply lines coming into the main roads that supplied the camps.

  Hey Rizo,

  Where are all the pictures of the starving German soldiers who guarded the camp? Looks like the German soldiers in each picture look pretty healthy to me.

  And what if you're right, that most of these people died from disease and not the gas chamber? Is it any less of a crime to imprison a group of people and let them die of starvation and disease?

  The program said that the Japanese got their Jet engine tech from the Italians, and their prototype jet planes were very advanced. Some of the Japanese protypes had single jet engines (compared to the German two) and had advanced swept wing design. They were pretty fancy!

  Hey Crazy,

  I did a little research on this Japanese jet. It was far from being anything like you said. First of all, there was only one prototype. It was extremely difficult to fly and as a matter of fact it flew only once. And what happened? It took forever to leave take off, never went over 200 ft. and end up crashing! A second prototype was started but by then the Japanese surrendered.
