You guys are taking the piss right? We pay £0.80 per litre, that's nearly £3.50 for a real gallon or about $5.50 and you are complaining about paying less than $2????
Yeah, but we're also paying about $150.00 a WEEK for health insurance.
the price of gasoline sure is getting high, in my area it is about $1.65, i guess not too bad compared to other areas.
i'm not too worried because my camry gets pretty good gas mileage and i don't usually have to commute too far.. however, i think this summer it may reach over $2 in many areas.
i just wonder how this will affect summer aux.

does anyone have a true story that unquestionably proves god's existence?
bible stories or amazing coincidences do not count as a viable response, sorry to say.
i'm asking as a person who, although good-hearted and "moral", has lost all faith in an outside god of any kind.
That's not what the bible says. One example is the account about the 10 plagues of Egypt when Pharoh asked "Who is this Jehovah?". It would be wonderful to see such miracles as are described in the bible. Though when people read of such things in other books they mysteriously turn into myths.
That's what I've always wondered. In "ancient times" I would say that probably everyone, no matter what religion, believe in "a god." It seemed that even other gods besides Jehovah could perform miracles. In modern times science has been a more accepted means to explain the world around us, thus most/many people simply do not believe. Wouldn't it be more benefitial to perform miracles today? Heck, can you imagine if the pope at his annual easter speech suddenly healed a group of sick people, maybe cured a group of Catholics from Africa who have AIDS? The entire world would become Catholic.
it always seems strange to me that the religious right in america and elsewhere is so 'in bed' with israel.. if you look at the history and beliefs, surely christianity has more in common with muslims who believe in christ (as a prophet) then in judaism which was the very religion that christ was rejecting and was killed by!.
surely for christians, the jews were "the bad guys" having rejected the messiah and forfeiting their position as gods chosen people?.
so why the support?
- 48% believe their country has special protection from god.
- 86% believe in miracles
- 89% in heaven
- 73% in hell and the devil
Yeah, right! lol!
just wondering about something.
i?ve been reading articles about the 9/11 panel and their investigation of the events leading up to that tragic event.
in hindsight, something should have been done and we could argue all day long if it?s clinton?s fault or if bush should have done something.
Speaking of Occupying forces........Hey Simon, whats up with Ireland?
Invaded Belfest and Derry back in 1969 and they still have 30,000 troops there. Why?
Where's the Homer Simpson "Dooo!"
since being da'd a few years back i haven't had any real contact with my jw family.
i've accepted this and moved on, just like most of us have.
just recently i've been contacted by them whenever they need something.
Maybe you could try for a little more involvement such as a meal together to see just how the land lies, it could give more of a clue to their real feelings about you.
Actually, tomorrow will be interesting. Every other Friday I buy lunch for all the guys (all seven of us. lol). Every sits in my office and we chomp on pizza or whatever and, for 30 or so minutes, we talk about anything BUT work. He's expected to join in because it makes for good moral. Plus, from time to time the guys get on each others nerves and this forces them to talk with the guy they're "pissed" off with. Anyway, if he pulls the "I can't eat with you" attitude, he'll have to take a hike. I just can't have that at my company. I wonder what he'll do...

Good to know your kids are going to be raised differently and by a father that sets such a good example for them.
Thanks X, I needed that! :)

Thanks everyone for the feedback, it's appreciated. It really is weird being around them, they truly believe that there is nothing wrong with their conduct. For example, last weekend I was at my mom's moving some furniture for her and fixing her front door. My brother shows up with his wife and kids (to visit their grandmother). So they head for the livingroom while I'm there fixing the front door. I then hear my sister-in-law laughing and my mom asks her "What are you laughing about?" So my sister in law answers "Juliana (my 4-year old niece) asked "'who is that man working on Oma's (grandma's) door'"? Then they all started laughing. I was within earshot and almost blew a gasket. WTF? That's the way you want your kid raised, not knowing their own uncle? I shot my mom a look and she got the messaged. I'm not sure how long I can put up with this. Without sounding like a complete jerk, they'd better show some class and appreciation before this situation turns ugly.

Hey roy! How many time must I remind you we do not tollerate replicants on this forum? *LOL*
Hey Val, with this JW family thing, I'm again starting to feel like a replicant instead of a human! Ug! BUT everything else is great! Thanks for asking.

Just recently I've been contacted by them whenever they need something. For example, my father died about a year ago so now I occasionally go to my mom's house when she needs something repaired. Another example, my brother was fired from his engineering job a couple of weeks ago and since I own my company he asked (via our mom) if he could work here while he looks for another job. I said "ok" and now he's working here (very awkward).
Am I being a wuss or am I being compassionate? All of my new friends just shake their heads and can't believe that I'm "giving in" but I still feel that family is family no matter how badly they threat you. Am I going to regret this later when they no longer need me and stop calling? Or could this be a way to get them away from the Wt?
