haha, that's why they say not to discuss politics and religion with friends....
But then I guess that'd cut about 80% of this site out wouldn't it?

i do.
but i also thought, nixon, reagan and clinton were going to get re-elected.

anyone have any thoughts on american idol lately.. i was really dismayed when they voted jennifer off two weeks ago.
it looks like she will still have a career though.. john stevens is just so nice but he needs voice lessons, as paula suggested for him.. who do you think will win?.
at this point, i think it's between diana and latoya.
george stinks and he blinks all the damn time.
LOL!
hey all-guess who's graduating from marist college, with honors, just 3 days after her 47th birthday!?!
i want to extend a genuine invitation for all who are, or will be, in the catskill mnts region of upstate ny to join me for 2 days of celebration.
be sure to bring your tents and guitars!
Congrats!
I didn't realize Marist was in the Catskills, that's not far off from where I'm at...

LaToya will most likely win, with Diana a close 2nd.
George has the coolest personality but I can't stand listening to him. Jennifer I liked but didn't cry when she left. Her buggy eyes drove me insane as well. I know that's superficial but oh well. I liked John alot and was sad to see him go. Tonight would have been his night. I like Fantasia, but Diana has to be my favorite - she needs to be a country singer though, but hell that's where the money is.

I agree, Diana or LaToya. I think it's a toss-up as far as talent goes, although I enjoy listening to Diana more.
i do.

Slap Nixon for Hanoi? Why? We should have continued to pulverize not only Hanoi, but also Laos and Cambodia...the whole reason Vietnam became a "quagmire" is because we wouldn't fight the darned war...how in God's name can you defeat an enemy without attacking it's headquarters and it's supply routes?
I was joking Yuro
Simon:
Why in the hell should we sign up for the world court? If we do something wrong, the world can come and do something about it, we don't need to submit our men and women to rulings of any court that we ourselves don't control. I commend our President for standing his ground on that note!

i do.

well, I'll agree that there are many things in our past that are just incredibly wrong. I think Hiroshima was going a bit overboard. But on the same token, we can't allow these things to continue in this world and war crimes are war crimes no matter who commits them. But I don't know what this has to do with whether or not George Bush should win this election. To my knowledge (and opinion) he's not committed any war crimes.
Rev
PS - We could dig up Nixon and slap him around for Hanoi though, I'd be ok with that, hahaha
i do.
but i also thought, nixon, reagan and clinton were going to get re-elected.
you're correct Realist. I apologize, I keep sneaking off from work to use the PC and got myself all turned around :)
i do.
but i also thought, nixon, reagan and clinton were going to get re-elected.
I don't think anyone thinks that...we're just not as dellusional as some to see Bush and the current US admin as the humanitarian "good guys" as others see them.
Well see now you're just trying to insult and that's just plain ignorance.
I don't think the US is perfect and I don't think Bush is perfect, but we better get used to him because we'll be calling him President for almost 5 more years.
Rev
i do.

well, for one Vietnam had been engaged in a civil war for years at this point. The residents of that area had ample opportunity to remove themselves (Jane Fonda knows this first hand). The people of the northern areas of Iraq were attempting to escape the Iraqi regime. We were able to provide the 'safe zone' for the Kurds, but unfortunately it's estimated that up to 200,000 Shi'ites were murdered. Men women and babies that were just trying to get away.
yes, there is a remarkable difference in the two. And frankly if you think it's ok for a guy like Saddam to do these things to innocent people, then I don't even care to interact with you any further.
It just makes me ill.
