  it seems to me that we are searching continually for newer and better dirt on the wtbts.. now we hear about jw child abusers.

  child abuse is still a newish thing in the public eye.

  we see the same mistakes .

  I can't believe you have just said what you have.
  I hope this is just a case of a person(yourself)who has taken an issue and jumped to conclusions without making sure they have all the facts.
  Because if you have been paying attention and already know all the facts on this, it would mean you are just as sick and wicked as the molesters!

  Yes it is to be expected that JWs will have abuse just like other groups.

  But that is not what this is about!
  The problems go much farther that this.
  We are not having a fit because abuse exists in the org.
  It is the policies that are in place that protect the abuser and further victomize the victim.WT has been aware of this for years and refuse to help instead of harm victims more.

  You are so wrong!! Because of whats going on in this org victims and their families are threatened with loiosing everything if they don't keep their mouths shut.
  In most cases it never makes it to the proper authorities which is exactly the way WT has it all set up to protect their image.

  I really hope you are saying these things out of ignorance.
  There's no excuse for it though.There's tons of info out there to catch you up.
  We are not persecuting the JWs as you suggest.
  This is a hidious thing that is going on and something must be done.
  We know this org inside in out.
  It makes sense to fight causes you are an expert in.
  I feel insulted by your words.

  My Thanksgiving

  ginny t, ginny's son, my daughter, me...just finished over-eating, as is the tradition in this country.

  we're enjoying a glass of chardonnay, sitting in front of a fireplace, plunking tunes on a grand piano, and looking out at puget sound.

  ginny says it reminds her of the west coast of norway.

  Are you sure that was a turkey you cooked and not a small horse or something?
  I didn't know they got that big.
  Maybe that one was on steroids.
  I cooked a 20 pounder and thought it was big.
  Now I find out mine was just a shrimp.

  Anyway, I did want to point out that I made a post on this thread last night before I went to bed then once again this morning before going to work all day long in the sunshine I might add, and now here it is again just before bed time and I'm posting again.Hardly excessive if you ask me.

  Questions about physical security at conventions

  can someone here tell me what the current policy is in jw conventions in terms of inviting the public.

  is the public invited only for the special talk on sunday or can they come in at any time?

  if a memeber of the public does come into the assembly hall, are they escorted or kept under surveillance the entire time or just a short while?

  I used to get cracked up at the brothers they would choose for security at the assemblies.
  It was part of my entertainment to look at the ones sitting by the stairs at both sides of the stage and wonder just what they think they could do in an emergency situation.
  Throw a Bible?
  Use their body as a shield?
  Start praying?
  Scream and run?
  You shoulda seen some of these guys!
  They were usually wimpy little guys or overweight.

  I sure didn't feel any more secure.

  I'm sure we will hear of more of this type of thing from WT trying to intimidate people from using WT literature to expose them for what they really are.

  I don't believe they will ever get control of the internet situation.

  I'm interested in your thoughts on something off topic.

  Since it sounds like you work at London Bethel and you also frequent this board you must be familiar with what both sides are saying on the UN issue and have also seen the evidence provided so far.
  I'm courious about what you feel about Brooklyn Bethel's official explanation on the matter?

  Also,what do you think about them demanding that your branch along with all others around the world use this explanation?

  Surely this must disturb you a great deal to see that they are not telling the truth?

  If I didn't know you were teasing,I'd throw something at you!

  If I had to work from before daylight to dark and also had to do without all those modern conviences you mention I wouldn't be so nice and I surely wouldn't have much energy left to spoil my man.
