  the irony of letter read at meeting this week and CO visit

  the number 3 talk was about organized religion and the householder was lamenting how her church is always asking for money.

  then lo and behold we get a letter read from the branch about more donations!!

  then the visiting co give his his talk on how we should be encouraging our bible studies to share the truth with others.

  yadda yadda 2 said "Wish people would speak proper English when they start a thread."

  Did you really mean to say, " I wish people would speak proper English when they start a thread ?"

  I agree with what Archie Bunker stated, " Anyone that can't speak poifect English ought to be de-exportated right out of this here country."

  the word hoax is thought to be derived from the magician's utterance of silly "hocus-pocus" so-called magic incantation.. this is jibberish, of course--a fake latin-sounding phrase mimmicking the priest's words in catholic mass changing wine into the "actual" blood of christ.. yeah.. only a conscious attempt to deceive separates a hoax from an otherwise mistake or urban myth.. according to folklorist jan brunvand, a 'hoax tends to indicate "relatively complex and large-scale fabrications" and includes deceptions that go beyond the merely playful and "cause material loss or harm to the victim".brunvand, jan h.   I was in field service with a CO who had served as a DO for a number of years. He refused to go to a house with a barking dog. He said , " Let them die at Armageddon with their dogs. " I was stunned. I said to him, " Do you realize that most people have dogs because they are afraid. Aren't these the ones we want to reach with the Kingdom hope? He just gave me a funny look and kept on walking."

  Faithful Witness asked why I want to know.

  Living in Canada concealed carry is illegal. Maybe 3 private citizens in Canada have concealed carry. However, I do understand the fear people have. The news is full of stories where people are victimized. In my city, metro Vancouver, the major university, UBC has had 6 female students sexually assaulted in the last few weeks. I have a number of firearms for sport target shooting only. I would walk over hot coals before I fired at another person, BUT, I do understand the need for some to carry concealed to protect themselves. Of course, I refer to the Utied States.

  In answer to the above question: Just curious.

  And, if any witness knew of someone carrying, did you remain silent? and why? Would Jehovah look on with understanding and approval if someone had that kind of fear and carried to protect themselves?
