Life is a whole lot better now, much less stressful.
Your right about being hospitable and trying to function with them. I went to meetings, studied the bible book with them, went to get togethers over a period of about 5 years. The whole time I was sickened by the mind control tactics that were used. After a while I couldn't take it anymore, so I abruptly quite participating. In less than 6 months my wife became inactive. After awhile her guilt of not serving Jah, eventually lead her into drugs. I guess she thought that she would get all she could out of life before Armagedon. "One more family torn apart by the WatchTower."
One talk at a convention stands out for me. It was about a Sister who's husband opposed the truth. He eventually divorced her, but she remained a faithful JW. The response of applause from the 3000 witnesses at the convention is one of the most disusting experiences I have ever had.
I wish that there was one person or a small group of people that we could hold responsible for the pain that this organization has caused. I feel that the Witnesses themselves are victims that are just caught up an organization that has spun out of control over last 100 years. The Organization has become an entity without a conscience. It feeds off of the lives it destroys.

This is just one example of the tactics this group uses to divide families, isolate members (or potential members) and to boldly display it's hostility to spouses they view as unfriendly to them. They have no respect for the marriage they themselves performed nor do they see the family connection above their own agenda. They are evil and a social cancer and they are not to be trusted on any level.

Thanks for pointing this out. I never realized it, but this is exactly what pisses me off the most about JW's. Before I knew what was going on, they came into my home and started a study with my wife and had her convinced that they had the truth . No amount of reasoning would convince her that something was wrong. My opinions or thoughts were no longer welcome. The Watchtower had replaced me and made me the enemy in many areas of our relationship. It has been ten years since this happened, and three years since my divorce, and I am still pissed.

Many of man's problems are caused by religion. The Koran, like the Bible has been used to teach love for your neighbor as well as death to your neighbor. Belief in an afterlife has the effect of causing many to put a lower value on this present life. If everyone would consider that this life is the only one that you get. Maybe they would have more respect for the life of their neighbor.

More people are killed *EACH MONTH* in the USA in motor vehicle collisions.
The people that died on 9/11 were killed by a direct act of religious fanatics. Though the sorrow and pain of losing anyone is the same no matter what the circumstances, there is a difference between accidental deaths caused by motor vehicle collisions and intentional deaths in the name of religion.
