  my dad now an ex witnesses was visited last sunday by an active witness who said that during the special talk in the assembly in colchester england they would be advised to begin stockpiling food and water for what could a economic meltdown!.

  my dad reminded him about the ancient israelites who relied on jehovah and were provided with mana after their escape from egypt, the point was lost on him!.

  have the governing body become a pseudo survivalist regime, and where is their faith!!.

  Heart to heart talk? IMO be VERY strict with her. You are the head of the family and she has to obey you. Go to those get-togethers but force her with your authority as head of the family to join similar get-togethers with non-jws christians whose beliefs are close to jws-I hope you have such friends.

  how long should we shun a child sex offender, should the watchtower have thrown out the sex offenders the congregation for five, ten, twenty years?

  how should a congregation deal with a sex offender who thinks he has grappled and beaten his urges?.

  I agree with Black Sheep. Shunning isn't Biblical.

  As a matter of fact, I happen to know a couple of those guys (through gossip-imagine how many more I am unaware of). They seem very good brothers now, but that doesn't mean that I will EVER EVER let my kids get close to them or invite them to my house even for a cup of coffee.
