From Lurker to Newbie

i've been lurking on this board for a few months and realize i'm addicted so i finally decided to post.

i'm not a witness and never was - i was shunned before i could even begin to study because i asked too many hard questions and had the audacity to want to be engaged to jw.

the relationship ended when his 'loving family in the truth' told him they would shun him if he didn't break it off.

i feel like i've been away from this place for eons now and it's probably true, none the less, i feel on top of the world.. my wife gave birth to a set of the most beautiful boys one could ever dream of last monday and i am absolutely elated, whooooooaaaah.. i can tell you all is well is well with mother (a godess) and children (sons of god almighty himself, me .

what can i say say other than telling the whole world about it including you guys.

Hi Kent,

I checked the llink you provided above. I read through it. What part of the WTS chronology has crumbled from these excavations?

I'm only asking because I don't have time to do all the research myself, and I have a feeling that you know all the details already. Tell tell... :-)

? about a part of Ray Franz' Book

i read part of ray franz' book and in there he tells of a proposal that schroeder and two other members of gb.

it had something to do with the coming of christ in 1957, i think.

does anyone have information on what exactly it was that they proposed and what scriptures they gave for that proposal?.

Without opening the book, I remember that it had something to do with the launch of the Russian sattelite "Sputnik". Apparently, it was such an event, that some people in bethel thought that's what the bible meant about sings in heaven. After a brief consideration, the WTS stayed with the status quo.

Toronto Gathering - A great time!!!

i thought for sure that someone else would have posted something here.. we had a great turn out and there wasn't a bethel spy to be seen, well except for me but we got that figured out fast enough.

thanks to peter for organizing us and for the great suggestion for an eatery.. what an interesting cross section of people.

from those in their early 20's to those in their ummmm continuing holding pattern of 29!!

I'm glad that you all had a great time last night! I really enjoyed myself too, more than I thought I would.

Once Sweeeet Mango figures out when she's coming to Toronto for a visit (all the way from the prairies!) sometime next month, we'll arrange our next get together so that she can meet up with us also! ;-)

the coffee break get together is going to be tuesday, july 17th, starting at 6pm (for those that can't make it right at 6pm) and ending whenever.... i'll be e-mailing the actual location and directions for the out-of-towners driving in (plenty of parking nearby) or taking the go train transit in (it will be on the ttc subway line)!.

The get together went over really well, in my opinion. We had 11 people show up. It was really nice putting a face to the "handle"!

After hanging out in a cafe for over an hour, we headed over to pub for some grub and beer...and more talking and getting to know each other. Afterwards, it was time to hit yet another place for more coffee and desert! :-D

All in all, I enjoyed myself, and I hope the rest of you that were there also had a better than average time!

We'll meet again Thursday evening...make sure you study your KH... LOL....OK, OK, just kidding.
