Are you perhaps thinking of Leolaia?

(Her avatar was/is the actress, Carey Mulligan from Dr. Who)
Yes, sir. That's her.
i would like to know if ex's and formers who are not church christians, believe that many of jws' doctrines and bible interpretations are correct, or do you feel that they aren't?

I want to know asks “So why is the world still so messed up?”
the same reason that it always has been messed up. Free will. When given a choice between 2different goods, we , humans as a whole, will chose the lesser good.
That’s the evil, us, as a whole, continuing to chose the lesser good over the greater good.
TTWSYF
That sounds like a dangerous thing that Jehovah created.
i would like to know if there are any ex's or formers who still appreciate good manners and respectfulness?
but i hope this question isn't offensive to this forum.

The OP seems to be of the opinion that you'll find manners and respect in the Kingdom Hall, but not among exJWs. For the reasons above, I don't see that as automatically being the case.
Actually, NotFormer, what I was getting at was that some posters' attitude and language seems to validate the viewpoint of Jehovah's Witnesses that apostates are terrible people. And that if any of JWs would ever look at this forum (which I'm sure that the headquarters have), they would probably say something like, "See, I told you so."
And no offense to anyone, but even when I first read this forum years and years ago, I experienced a bit of culture shock. Plus, I had thought that even having little 'monsters' as the default avatar, kind of played into the role being an apostate. Although now I figure that it's a way of the owner of this site to give the finger to the Watchtower Society.
i been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming up….
…dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came up….
…i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys weren’t offended and indignant because they thought it was lies….
I know many JWs who would claim: "But they (WTS/GB) have been right about everything else!"
Such as what, you ask?
Trinity is untrue
Soul is not immortal
Hell is common grave (not Hell Fire)
Only group fulfilling Matt 24:14 (worldwide preaching)
Only group remaining "no part of the world"
Only group (widely) using the name "Jehovah" (vindication of God's name)
Displaying unequaled True Love of Brother (or Mankind)
Unparalleled growth (proof of Jah's Holy Spirit & blessing)
YES, THEY REALLY BELIEVE ALL OF THIS!
Yes, I would say that's about the size of it.

“When doubts manifest, one of the possible reactions is to double down and dig in. The more you do that, the more sunk the cost gets. “
This is so true with so many things. Those who took the vax multiple times don’t want to take the red pill that it’s harming them, they prefer the blue pill that it is safe for humans.
Oh, God. Politics. I've had all my covid vaccinations along with flu and pneumonia, and I'm feeling fine.

Why would you invest in Watchtower when you have to continue paying into the investment and have yet to see one dividend? This is your Time, and money, your life. What do you have to show?
But they would say the dividends would be the positive results in their lives whether it would be having given up cigarettes or drugs, or anger control, wife beating, sexual immorality, or even not having an anticipation that there's a solution to the world's woes.

I think you nailed it.
Some of the most hysterically vicious comments I’ve ever heard were JWs ranting, sometimes at a meeting, sometimes in a private setting, about either gays or evolution.
It’s interesting, I never heard such utter vile disgust directed toward, say, murderers or drug dealers or child pornographers, etc. Just solely directed toward, as you noted, persons or concepts that very likely, on some level, they hoped were wrong but maybe weren’t.
Great post, FFGhost. Because like in Stephen Lett's infamous comment, he didn't refer to murderers or violent people, or people who like to get high or prey on children who come back in the resurrection and who still lean towards those tendencies.

We're all individuals and have different values. Ex-JWs aren't a hive mind.
Perhaps the fake religion of Watchtower corporation(tm) would imply or say that Ex-JWs are all bad and go off the rails. What balderdash. Life is not that black and white.
True. But I noticed that there seemed like there was a lot of angry former JWs here at this forum.

Your friend got suckered into a cult and then had his entire social circle reject him. The general response to something like that seem like angry and ornery...
Regardless of the accountability he might have accepted for being in the cult, it's still pretty justified at being upset, especially at current JWs.
So, are you implying that some ex's or former JWs are still working through their anger?
