Hypocritical statement in the July 15th Watchtower denouncing those who "forsake" family members on religious grounds
by cedars ini've had a quick glance through the july 15th watchtower, and at first reading there seems nothing too dramatic to report.. the title of the first article "let jehovah guide you to true freedom" seemed ironic to say the least.
not surprisingly, the way you get more freedom is by relinquishing it entirely to the watch tower society.
there is also a bizarre statement in the very first paragraph of the article on page 7 (bold highlighted remarks are mine):.

This reminded me of a washtowel a few months ago that really irked me. What a bunch of a$$holes these guys are. Talk about mind control and taking individuality out of the equation. The guy was dressed just fine to begin with. If they represent what God really wants (not saying they do) then God must hate us.

Submitting an experience to WTS
by tootired2care injust curious, you always hear of the experiences in the yearbook or the wt about how jehovah provided for some lowly pioneer or disadvantaged person, or someone that put jehovah first.
were you ever personaly involved in one of the experiences or involved enough in the background to see how these experiences were authenticated for publications or assembly?
i'm wondering how much of these stories we hear are exaggerated or just outright lies,and what they had to do to sell it to us to motivate us to pioneer.

Talk about crap pioneers have to put up with. I remember my wife had an assembly part once, the next year they wanted her up there again ( because she puts a good face on the corporation go figure) and she remembers hearing the CO saying the type of experience he wanted to happen before the next assembly so he could work it into his part! So he wanted the elders to get the word out to the pioneers to "make it happen".
This coming from the same CO that said in pioneer school that women on their cycle should sit in the back of the hall and let brothers know so they understand why they might be grouchy...I can't make this stuff up

Australia Pioneer Convention experience.....we at veggies from the gutter...encouraging!!!!

they father went on about how the struggled at times but "jehovah provided" like the time a fruit and veggies truck must have lost some of it's load and they filled there bags?????
not very encouraging at all.

I know so irritating...especially when you bust your chops and are left to feel that God is not with you because you never receive such help. This is something that has always bugged me. God plays favorites, so be a good little pioneer...

Futhermore when the CO's go on their 20 minute ramble at the end of the assembly it always felt like story telling time for me. Is there any former CO's that hang out in JWN that could speak to some of this?
