Index of acronyms : help for new forumers
by Mary J Blige inam finding a whole lot of acronyms that are really foreign to me and i now have an appreciation for what cult language sounds like to non-culters.
wondering please if you can post your definitions so i can get up to speed.
otherwise, as an indoctrinated ex-culter, i am inclined to create my own new light and swiftly it will be gospel.

Why Is This New Batch of Governing Body Members So Stupid?
by Brokeback Watchtower inwell there are lots of reason for sure, denial, delusion, wishful thinking, ego maniac, infantile understanding of ancient writings, satanophobia, xenophobia, out of touch with reality, limited choices scrapping the bottom of the barrel, and many more.. listen to this ted talk and see if you can pick out something that helps explain why these guys are such ass holes:.
organizations are often run according to the superchicken model, where the value is placed on star employees who outperform others.
and yet, this isnt what drives the most high-achieving teams.

I do have to wonder sometimes if there is something to the rumors that the GB are just figureheads and someone else is calling the shots.
People like Morris, Lett, or Loche might be kept totally in the dark about issues like child abuse, and never make decisions about policy. I wonder if they want to change a teaching, if it can be overruled by the suits above them. Or if they merely give rubberstamp approval to doctrinal changes...just like a congergation rubberstamps the decisions of elders.

A difficult yet necessary decision
by Brother Jeramy inthe past five weeks have been perhaps the most painful in my life as a witness.. some months ago a young man (i'd say in his late thirties or early forties) began attending meetings at my kingdom hall.
he had just moved to my area from another state.
he had disassociated himself from his home congregation many years back, when he was 20 years old and going through many of the typical trials and temptations most young men experience.. two of the elders met with him initially, and they later shared the details with the body of elders.

Here are some hidden recordings that detail what those who seek reinstatement go through:

Please reconsider DAing...this is playing by thier rules. Fading is the best option.
What this man went through is very familar and is something many of us experienced firsthand.

Speaking of osteopathy...this reminds me how even before the blood ban, there were all sorts of medical alternatives espoused, many times advertized in Watchtower publications. Early on waking up, I was especially amazed to learn about Electronic Radio Biola that was promoted during the 20's.

RC musings - my impressions
by Doubting Bro inso i went to the rc this past weekend and have a few observations:.
1 - use of videos - most parts had some sort of video prop.
they ranged from awkward (an example was on friday where they showed scenes of nature without a real purpose other than god made this) to very well done.

They will come back as indoctrinated as ever, I'm sure. -

Slow motion pioneers
by 1Averagejoe inobserving our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.
along the way it's gossipy this and that.

Elders, disfellowshipping, & baseball umpires
by sir82 inok bear with me for second on this one..... i was just reading the other day about "pitchf/x", a type of technology that can accurately track whether a pitch in baseball is a ball or a strike.. a couple of analysts went over 6 years of baseball data.. it turns out that umpires are wrong about balls & strikes about 14% of the time.
what they call a "ball" is really a "strike" about 13% of the time, and what they call a "strike" is really a "ball" about 15% of the time.
here is the article.. that's at the major league level.. umpires have to work their way up to the major leagues, just as players do.

In my case, they disfellowshipped a repentant person and reinstated an apostate...
But JC decisions are never wrong...what a paradox!
