  Refuting the Alleged Evidence of Jesus' Resurrection

  in the past few months there have been a few debates on this site over alleged evidence of the resurrection of jesus.

  this can be a hot topic as most would agree that without the resurrection of jesus there would be no christianity.

  i am not so sure of that, but i am more sure that dr. gary habermas' minimal facts approach to the resurrection has no evidentiary basis.. here is a 22 minute video on the topic.

  In the past few months there have been a few debates on this site over alleged evidence of the resurrection of Jesus. This can be a hot topic as most would agree that without the resurrection of Jesus there would be no Christianity. I am not so sure of that, but I am more sure that Dr. Gary Habermas' Minimal Facts Approach to the resurrection has no evidentiary basis.

  Here is a 22 minute video on the topic. From 1:30 to 6:41 the video addresses the scholars who agree with the minimal facts in Habermas' Minimal Facts. It is telling.

  Over all the video is well worth the 22 minutes of your life spent watching it.

  Remember, the Norse god Odin promised to rid the Earth of ice giants. There are no ice giants alive today. There is no other evidence for the lack of ice giants so Odin must be real. We even have a day of the week named after Odin (Wednesday aka "Woden's Day") and since our modern calendar uses Odin's name Odin must be a historical figure. Thursday is named after Thor ("Thor's Day") and Friday is named after Frey (aka Frigg for "Frigg's Day").

  If you don't believe in Odin, Thor, and Freya it may be because of this saying -

  "The difference between a Christian and an atheist is an atheist believes in one less god."

  or not.

  Either way, I do not appreciate intellectual dishonesty by those who purport to be academic scholars.

  i'm interested in your thoughts.. the media tells us a lot of agenda driven propaganda.

  you're hard pressed to spot truth these days.. however, i'm told that the rona is now just a rotten flu and not the plague we were originally terrified in to believing.

  last time i heard it was down in the hit parade to 16th nasty health thing.. all the people and family i know that have had the rona, have been complaining it's a very crappy flu.

  One more important piece of information I received - If you contract COVID-19 do not get vaccinated or get boosters.

  My doctor told me not to get my booster now that I have contracted COVID-19. I buddy of mine got his booster after contracting COVID-19. He had a mini-stroke as a result of it.

  so apparently robert hendricks the spin doctor of the wt society has been proudly telling news channels how wonderful the wt org has been during the 2 years of the pandemic, checking in with each and every member to meet their needs on a weekly basis.. except, based on the comments of former jw friends on facebook, it's news to most of them since they are screaming out that they were totally neglected by the elders/ms throughout most of that period.

  a couple even said that because of being ignored by the congregation during this time, that they have walked away completely.

  Need to cross alligator infested rivers to get to the Kingdom Hall? Attend the meetings.

  Government putting JWs into gulags or worse? Attend the meetings.

  COVID-19 germs floating around? Stay home and no door-to-door ministry for 2 years!

  I remember before I left the JWs the elders wanted to conduct a shepherding call on my family. They asked if they could come over after a Sunday morning meeting. I said, "No. I work Sundays after the meeting. You can come over weeknights after I get off work." They never did.

  There is no way in Hades elders were helping fellow Witnesses out during the lockdowns.

  Hines v. Watchtower, et al, Plaintiff's Opposition to GB's Motion to Dismiss

  last friday, plaintiff hines' opposition to the above motion was filed.

  it appears to me that the zalkin firm eviscerates the gb's motion.

  in plaintiff's memorandum of law, it is clearly presented that the elements of hines' complaint are of the type protected by ny law against motions to dismiss.

  Speaking in general terms, based on my 20+ years in law enforcement, I am not surprised that these elders got probation. Just about every criminal defendant in the U.S. gets probation for a Misdemeanor crime, which I believe is what these elders were charged with. It is very rare to get a jail term. Jails are run by the county and funded by the county. The courts are constantly working with elected Sheriff's to keep jail populations down. Prisons are run by and funded by the state. First time convicted felons whose crime is a non-violent felony and whom have no prior criminal history are almost guaranteed to get probation as well in lieu of prison time.

  The big win or silver lining on this case is that the elders involved were arrested, charged, tried, and convicted in the one country in the world that boasts having the most religious freedom. This case should put all elders in the U.S. on notice - report child molesters to the police immediately or arrest prosecution yourself! If it happened once it will happen again. This is not a unicorn case.

  I got robbed this morning!

  first of all… i am ok. i was robbed at the gas station this morning.

  after my hands stopped trembling, i managed to call the police.

  they were quick to respond and calmed me down, but all my money is gone.

  The U.S. federal government has blocked any new oil drilling rigs from being built for over 47 years.

  In January of 2020 President Biden blocked oil pipelines that would bring Canadian oil into the U.S. while oil companies continued to purchase Russian oil.

  January 2020 President Biden issues an order mandating that U.S. auto manufactures' produce 50% electric vehicles by 2035.

  In January 2020 President Biden issues an order shutting down all mining of rare earth elements in the U.S. which are required to manufacture the batteries for electric vehicles, thus forcing the U.S. auto industry to purchase batteries from China. In turn Chinese owned mines in Africa use child labor to mine rare earth elements and now China is working with the Taliban to mine rare earth elements in Afghanistan.

  Yes, oil companies make huge profits from processing crude oil into gasoline. Yes, oil companies have huge reserves of oil. In short, profit margins for shareholders rule the day in the U.S. Our corporate overlords always pass the increased cost of production to the consumers (us).

  However, I never saw a child roughneck out in the oil fields in the U.S. or Canada. If my choices are putting Russian gas in my car to the tune of $7.00 a gallon or use an electric car with a Chinese battery made with cobalt mined by African children I think I will just walk.

  I heard new data involving COVID-19 deaths on the radio today. During the first year of the lockdown in the U.S. there was a drastic increase in alcohol related deaths. Depending on the age group (the youngest group was 16 - 20 years old) in increases were from 25% to 35%. The number of alcohol related deaths in the U.S. during the first year of the COVID-19 lockdown surpassed those who actually died from COVID-19.

  In short, American drank themselves to death faster than COVID-19 could kill them.

  2 years into all of this the U.S. Centers for Disease Controls tells us that the use of an N95 mask, which is designated a respirator, is required to assist in cutting down the spread of COVID-19. All these paper masks and custom cloth masks will not work. Then there is the fact that the COVID-19 virus can be absorbed through the membrane of the eyes. So, unless you have a face shield, the mask isn't going to stop you from contracting it.

  I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19. 9 months later I contracted COVID-19. My case was so severe it nearly killed me. Now I have been diagnosed with COVID Long Haulers.

  Here is what the doctor of my work supervisor told him when he contracted COVID-19 -

  • We are all going to get.
  • The only thing that will help us all is to get it and get over and over until we build up our immunity to it.

  Punk - you are correct in your assumption. We need to live with it. People are tired of just surviving because surviving is not living. Politicians are realizing this and they see they can no longer politize it for their benefit.
