  Further update on my son and i having coffee...

  well, first thanks all for the posts before i left,.

  it went great,,,,i did not recognize him,,,,i couldnt believe it,,what a fine young man he became,,,,we had 2 hours of wonderful talking together (bad grammer but i am still in a fog:).

  when it was over we stood outside coffee shot for a few min and i am sure i saw a few tears, then he hugged me, for quite a few seconds...and basically he said he would leave in my hands to contact him,,,,here i was worried he wouldnt want to see me for another 9 years.

  thank you all so much....... i never thought 'i' would ever be the one posting about talking with my son,,,,,he is so open to talking to me,,,,, now i can say 'i did a few good things'

  i apologized to him a few times about my minimizing/refusing him higher education due to the wt.....he was so kind in saying to me that even if he got one he may not be able to use it,,and gave a few examples of his friends who have them and are working at starbucks,,lol

  so he was trying to make me feel better for my (poor) choices re the wt

  again, thanks all

  and to those waiting,,,,dont be surprised one day,,i was about 2 weeks ago,,,,it could be you next:)

  and thanks to every one of you for holding on to me and helping me get this far (yes you did:)

  it was actually my sister in law(toronto) when he went to a wedding in summer, that spoke very hightly of me, we were friends since gr.7,,,,,that got him thinking. and his girlfriend apparently is very proud of him to take this step,,,,,,and he said"how could he go on in life if he had this feelihng towards his mother, would it hinder him with all relationships with other women,etc'

  not bad figuiring for a kid,eh? anyway, i left feeling very content, and ready to move on in life,,,to start to open up again,,just a smidge though,,,,,

  he even asked me if i was doing anything for xmas,,so maybe

  anyway, just wanted to let you know,,,i thought i would never see this son every again,,,and here he made the1.5 hrs ride each way to see me

  well, in one hour i am having coffee with my son i havent seen in 9 years,,,i am terrified.

  he did say that it was very important for him to meet with me,,he is 25 now,,,,he is one of four children i have not seen for a very long time, due to leaving my x of 25 yrs and the cult,,,,so off i go,,and i will update as soon as i get back,,with me luck.

I live in a new subdivision, and religious groups and vacuum cleaner salesmen come to my door several times a week. I have a large "No Soliciting" sign posted by my front door. However, please bear in mind that he could have come to rob you (or worse), and you are under no obligation to open your door to any stranger -- and that includes salesmen and religious proselytizers.   9 years since i saw my jw son

  yes, 9 years.

  we have chatted once and emailed a few times,,,,,, well last night he emailed me and wants to meet this weekend,,he is almost 25,,,. we are about an hours drive apart and will meet in the middle, i am so afraid to damage the meeting,,,i want so much for it to go well,,,, he is no longer a jw (thank goodness) and hasnt been for many years now if the other 3 would only come around.

  yes, lady lee, i will do that, i was wondering how i would handle it:)

  you see, my x assaulted me, and for the longest time i thought i deserved it, he (a ms with all the brothers standing behind him) got a year in jail for it, but got a ankle bracelet as the jails were too full :(

  well this son, one of my 3, helped him in the whole episode, but did not lay a hand on me,,,but,,,,,,,he never did tell his father to stop

  i think all the years of indoctrination to the male being superior played a major part in it,,all of my sons treated me with utmost disrespect, but this was not just due to the jw life,,,,was a major flaw with my x

  so for him to email me is a big big step for him, i feel

  anyway,,i am still so happy to hear from him
