this survey revealed that nearly three out of every five young christians disconnect either permanently or for an extended period of time from church life after age 15.. .
reason #1 churches seem overprotective.. a few of the defining characteristics of today's teens and young adults are their unprecedented access to ideas and worldviews as well as their prodigious consumption of popular culture.
as christians, they express the desire for their faith in christ to connect to the world they live in.
Good article. Something for those who choose to attend church to keep in mind, and something for churches to pay attention to. It also seems to me that most of these things should be addressed by the parents, instead of them abandoning their kids to the church to teach them.
Reason #3 is addressed by ministries like Creation.com (there are OE ministries too, just can't think of them off the top of my head).
Reason #6 is variable depending on the church/denomination. From what I understand Baptists are some of the worst in this area... with wanting you to accept their doctrine. (is okay, just be denominational in your own head and heart, after all we have ONE TEACHER)

why are so many jehovahs witnesses and escpecially ex-jws so unaware and ignorant of the new world order and the world goverment?
and is the watchtower a part of the new world order and the world goverment under the united nations and the vatican?
my rrsearch says this is the case.
You are cracking me up ND
the end before i left this god forsaken organization.
i had expected to tell a lot on these boards about what i witnessed in this organization...i'm tentative because for one i don't think a lot of people would even believe me...and because i don't want to put all this personal stuff out on front street.
but one thing i had to say because it's just to great, and probably won't be believed either..... before i left, about 8 months ago.....i met with the group to go out in field service on a saturday.
What good would it do to falsely accuse someone? Then if the GB got involved (I doubt it) in support of the elders and against the accuser, they would actually be right! In addition, some elders are people who are trapped just like we were. Pray for them, don't persecute them.

all religious groups are under DHS orders to tell you to calm down take the shots and go the camps. Its all been declassified.
Oh, I see, no wonder we aren't worried then. Embrace organized religion hook, line and sinker? Never!
i know of someone that is concerned that she will be all alone when she dies.. are you afraid to die alone??
?.
I am never alone, neither will I die... so no.

in the previous thread of this series, i called lurkers attention to the need of being discreet when contemplating an exit from the jw religion.
i mentioned that the thread was borne as a result of the general observations i made reading old posts here and discussing with many ex-jws and their lives have gradually turned out.
that thread alone was visited more than 2,980 times and graced with 204 contributions.
Nice NC!
