Yeah, okay, thanks. That makes sense. All I needed was to realize that the WT was calling the governing body the Greater Moses. Boom! I was fully out in that moment, and my heart began to sing!

Lord, to whom would we go away to? ... Who is your mediator?
by ShadesofGrey ini am writing up some things, thinking about making some brochures to distribute to jws.
here is one of the first, as this question is what broke me free.
i am playing with the idea of putting the scriptures and watchtower quotes on one page tracts or even billboards, anyway, here you have it:.

I still think this scripture is a great one to put on the Church sign, but there is so much there I don't think it will be absorbed... maybe verse 4 on the front and verse 5 on the back or something?
It also would be good to put on the tract?
2 Cor. 4: 4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.”

“There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.”-- 1 Timothy 2:5)
But the Watchtower says: "Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the mediator … to only 144,000 members " -- Worldwide Security under the Prince of Peace , page 10
John 6:67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” 68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.
But the Watchtower says: " come to Jehovah’s organization for salvation ," Watchtower 1981 Nov 15 p.21

Thanks everyone.
I added the phrase
He is the mediator … to only 144,000 members to the prince of peace quote.

How did plants survive the Flood?
by dgp innoah is not said to have carried plants in his ark.
supposedly the flood was severe enough to cover "even the tallest mountains", which would mean that mount everest was covered.
and this for forty days.

I am not hear to convince anyone of anything... if you want to look into it more you can.
The sea was likely much less salty before the flood. Fish actually have adapted to salinity quite a bit, as evidence by real time experience and the fact that every major taxonomical group has a freshwater and saltwater counterpart.
Evolution has occurred since the flood, in both plants and animals, so questions like strawberries (which Noah could have conceivably had aboard the ark) would fall into that category.
Not everyone who believes in a literal world-wide flood believes that Dinos were veggies before the flood, and the majority do not think that the flood actually killed the dinos. The Bible doesn't say that God chose some animal groups to be destroyed.

The Faithful and Discreet Slave - A JW Myth
by 00DAD inprobably this topic has been dealt with before, but i'm relatively new here, so perhaps y'all will be willing to indulge me in my pursuit for clarity.
regarding the anointed, the gb recently said this: .
"we thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know.

That is the real tragedy, truth b known, when people put up with that much abuse and still don't break free. :(
I tried to show a friend the truth because her dad was d-fed for not accepting that the world would end in '75... well, they are all fully indoctrinated again. It makes me sick.

You've got to be kidding. Secular science tells us that animals migrate by floating on rafts of vegetation and no one has any trouble believing that.
Sorry, I only read the last few posts.

Confused...
by raxxxx in.
hiya and... i do not really know where to begin... currently a jw... slightly starting to fade... got a girlfriend baptised... i am baptised also... my head is a mess... i do not know what to believe anymore... never really fully trusted elders as it comes to 'leading the flock'... got burned a few times with their ... decisions etc.
read a few articles in here about their alleged false beliefs... do not really know what to do... wondered if any of you felt like that at any point... when something that you trusted and followed most of your life... does not seem to be what you thought it was... .

The never was part is the hardest to deal with for us.
Yes, me too. I kept reading older publications thinking that they had just lost their way.

If you watch ex-gilead missionary's youtube videos and read the comments you will understand. JWs think that their doctrine is based on the Bible. Prove to them that it isn't.
My story is quite a bit different from others. Personally, I would not have ever been mentally free without Christ. He personally led me out of the cult.
Love,
Shades

Tammy, Wobble, I think we have narrowed it down. Thank you for your help!
Thanks Jonathon.
Jeffro, IMO, the idea that a human being who is not being influence by evil (since in their mind evil as a noun does not exist) would come on a thread and bother someone who is trying to rescue people from a destructive cult is also crazy.
