  Awake! and public Watchtower almost identical for appearance and content

  i was in a chinese take-out the other day and saw a couple of very recent awake and watchtower magazines on the counter, amongst other magazines.. i had a good flick through both of them and noticed how very similar both magazines now appear in terms of appearance and content.

  i was left with the distinct impression that the public edition watchtower is now basically indiscernable from the awake!

  regarding content.

  The whole purpose of the Awake was to use excess printing capacity. Now that printing capacity is no longer a consideration in the eReader world, the justification to have two separate magazines no longer exists.

  The internet changes everything about magazine disribution, they should, and probably are, thinking about how things from the perspective of content and distribution. This new model negates the reason for having door to door sales reps (i.e. publishers).

  Perhaps they don't even need a magazine title. It is just information distributed and updated via JW.Org. Are they pushing information to Aps similar to how newspapers (i.e. New York Times) so that if you have a app you always get fed the proper food at the proper time?

  They will be shocked as to how much literature is returned. We once did a similar request at our local hall for a reason which I forget.

  In any event it was unbelievable how much literature is stored in homes. The society clearly has a supply chain problem. While them may think that their literature ends up in the hands of the public and they like to promote the big numbers, the reality is that it just sits in publisher's homes. In any business this is referred to as channel stuffing.

  I added this video to compliment my prior comment. In my exit from the watchtower I really struggled with finding the truth. This song, which sounds great as a gospel, describes my struggle.

  12 years later. I have no interest in finding the truth in religion. But I believe I have found what I was looking for.

  Will WT start having JW kids do school in kingdomhalls?

  with all the articles about trying to keep kids in and not learn ttatt, etc, i can see one day they will use the kh's for class during the day and any parents who volunteer to teach, can count that as time.

  Where would they get the teachers to teach at a kingdom hall school? There may be a few withesses with the appropriate degrees to teach, but certainly not enough for an organized school.

  Based upon just that issue, I doubt that there will ever be a JW school at the local kingdom hall.

  Chile and the flag September 18

  i have asked the people who are following my fb page and who live in chile to take lots of pictures and even videos if they can of the chilean flag in the kingdom halls... can't wait for when the pictures start rolling in!!.

  I'm going to tell you that no kingdom hall or witness would display a flag in their window with out getting their arses kicked by the GB.

  I disagree, it is all about keeping property investments secure. The society owned no substantive properties in Malawi, so screw them.

  Reverse Shunning

  someting happened yesterday that i thought might be noteworty enough to relate to you here.. mrs. eyz and i were invited to my new boss's home for his annual end of summer party.

  it's a pretty big deal....his is a name known locally (i'll call him j.r.) a really nice interesting guy who's held a number of high level and politically connected jobs.

  there was to be music, dancing, wine and reprotedly lots of well dressed, well educated, well to do and influential people (oh yes...and us) in attendance.. anyway we thought we'd make an occasion out of it and got ourselves spiffed up which involved new outfits and extra mirror time before we left home.
