Sloan,
I see, I see, you must think that it is ok for BB to publiclly berate
Raymond Franz, The Rev, and others using the public forums and email lists rather than using private email, YET it is not ok that these same public postings by BB to public forums should be discussed on these same forums?Seems to me like this is a double standard. How Watchtower like that type of thinking is!
If BB didn't want this to happen, then he should have THOUGHT BEFORE posting that type of information to public email lists and forums in the first place. He is only reaping what he has sown.
If he sows seeds of criticism then he will also REAP criticism in return.
Conclusion: BB needs to learn some disipline in thinking before speaking when it comes to being critical of others.

Help on translation of Lord/Jehovah in NWT
by eyeslice ini am having great trouble with distinguishing between where the nwt refers to jehovah in the nt and where it should really read lord meaning, not god, but the lord; jesus.
the problem comes to light in a passage quoted in this weeks watchtower study.. the passage in question was romans 14:8, though you really have to read verse 9 as well to a better flavour of what paul was talking about.. in the nwt, the passage reads;.
9. for to this end christ died and came to life again, that he might be lord over both the dead and the living.. other translations, which do not attempt to substitute gods name, render the passage along the lines of;.

by Lapuce inwell dec 17 is the first day that i finally got out of the borg, thanks for all your help in making me see the real world.. .

Why not join a "hobby club" of some type, whatever you are interested in - ski, baseball, football, hunting, etc - That way making new friends is a lot easier because you all have a common interest. Just let the friendships develop in their own time frame. There is no need to rush into anything. Go to the gatherings, talk and go home again. In time you will have friends and you won't even know exactly when it happened.
Another thought:
If you divorce, your wife will most likely get custody of your 2 children unless you can argue that the JW lifestyle will hurt your children. So make sure you get an attorney that is specialized in
cult custody battles. Joint custody will not work as the JW MOM will see to it that her children are raised JW.NewLight2

Mulan: Would your mother permit some of the grandkids, etc coming to see her in her own place while the big party was going on elsewhere in the house? She could call it "family day". No presents, but maybe a veggie tray and some games.

((((((((((((LovesDubs))))))))))))
If hubby is talking to an elder, maybe he is sharing his 'doubts' with him. If he has access to a computer and the net while he is away, maybe, just maybe, he'll use this time to look up info on the net while he is sure that no one will be able to catch him doing it. UM, he can even go to any Library in town and access the net for free! So don't give up hope.
No, he probably will not share this with you now, but in the future he may. If he is just starting to have doubts, he would feel much too insecure right now to voice them to anyone he feels might destroy his faith more by pushing the issue too hard. He may feel that by reaching out to an elder, he is doing the only 'right' thing. After all, he still thinks that it is 'the truth'. He is unaware of all the lies and crap about the WT that we know. Even if you have shared some of this info with him, he doesn't really believe it is true. He's still thinking with the JW mindset. He reads everything with his WT glasses firmly in place.
Hope this helps some.
